Zazu is a supporting character in The Lion King: Next Generation.
Background[]
By the time of Part 1, Zazu is getting older, and is elderly by Part 2. However, he still works for the King and Queen, determined to fulfil his role to the end.
Personality[]
Zazu cares a lot about the Pride Landers, and is sure to reveal all of that in the Morning Report. He does get mad around the young cubs, since Kidogo ignores him, Akili is doing her own thing and Giza is often doing something. In the time of Prince Simba, Zazu was devoted to protect him.
Physical Appearance[]
Zazu is a blue hornbill with a red and orange beak, small eyes, white underbelly and pink feet.
History[]
Zazu is first seen talking to Simba in Part 1. When Kovu tells them about the incident with Kidogo, Zazu tells Kovu he needs to make it up with the young cub.
Seen later in Part 1, Zazu is next to the Outlands where he gets bird-napped by Kidogo and the hyenas. Apparently his plan is to use Zazu as bait to have his family follow. It works, but Kovu gets Zazu to safely and Akili turns Kidogo good again.
In Part 2, Zazu flies over to Prince Simba and asks if he can join. Simba acts hesitant at first, but then lets Zazu join. He then manages to get Zazu off his trail. When Simba runs into hyenas and some Outlander lions, Zazu flies along and tells them they have no right attacking, and says they’ll just be off. The hyenas attack anyway against the lions’ orders. Simba had to go to the Tree of Life, while Zazu was called back to Pride Rock.
