"Asante!" Kopa exclaimed. "You're alive!"

Asante ran up to Kopa with a smile. "I'm glad to see you've found your pride again, Kopa."

"There's someone I'd like you to meet." Kopa said. Vitani leaped over to the lion and hyena.

"Pleased to meet you," Asante said to Vitani. Vitani replied back, "So, you outmaneuvered Makucha, huh?"

"I sure did," Asante said. "You must have, too, if you know his name."

"Vitani here leads a Lion Guard in the Pride Lands," Kopa explained. "Her and her team defend the Circle of Life, and the Pride Lands from intruders."

"I've heard of you," Asante smiled. "It's nice that you and Kopa have become good friends."

"Yeah, friends..." Kopa started. Vitani raised an eyebrow at him.

"Vitani, may I please speak with Asante for a little bit?" Kopa asked. "We have a lot of catching up to do, you know."

"I understand," Vitani said. "I'll see you both later."

" 'K, bye Vitani!" Asante said, as the lioness leaped away.

The two childhood friends sat down in the shade. "I'm grateful to have survived, Kopa." Asante explained. "After you fled, I regained enough strength to fend off the leopards until the purple one got hit; then they ran off, and I fell unconscious. When I woke up, I began following your scent trail, but at a much slower pace."

"I'm so glad that you made it," Kopa said to his friend. "I never would have wanted our friendship to end like that."

Asante nodded. Sensing another thing was on her friend's mind, she asked Kopa, "Is there something else you want to talk to be about?"

Kopa sighed. "Well, you see, that lioness that we were just talking to..."

As Kopa confessed what had been on his mind so much lately, his parents stood nearby. They were stunned to see Asante again.

After her friend finished speaking, Asante said to Kopa, "Look, it's your parents."

Kopa turned around. "Hi Mom and Dad..."

"No reason to feel nervous, Kopa." Nala said. "We're glad to see Asante again."

"You are?" Kopa asked.

Asante and Royalty

"Greetings, Your Majesties," Asante said, getting up and doing a little bow. "I would like to apologize for causing you displeasure and grief. I'm truly sorry."

Simba nodded. "Apology accepted, Asante. Welcome to the Pride Lands. Me and Nala would like to apologize for not believing Kopa's report about you. Now we can see you truly are genuine."

"Thank you," Asante said, beaming.

Simba and Nala chatted with Asante and Kopa for a little bit, while Vitani stood by, watching.

Her Guard appeared beside her. "Why don't you go over there and chat, too?" Shabaha asked.

"I don't want to interrupt their reunion," Vitani replied. "Just like I have my own friends, Kopa has his own friends, too."

"Right," Kasi said, with a glance at Vitani.

"By the way, I received a report that two leopards were spotted in the Pride Lands," Tazama said.

"Then what are we standing around for?" Vitani asked. "Let's go! They could be Jiona and Fahari."

The lionesses quickly headed off. "Till the Pride Lands' end, Lion Guard defend!"

Tazama was right. Jiona and Fahari were in the Pride Lands. They were only passing through so they could get to the Back Lands, which were behind the Pride Lands, but still. They were enemies of Kion's Lion Guard, and thus enemies of the Pride Landers.

"Freeze!" Tazama said, spotting the two. "Don't dare to move!" Kasi said, as she ran and leaped over the leopards, landing in front of them. "We've got you cornered."

"Lay off already, lions." Jiona grumbled. "We're just passing through."

"Yeah, we're heading to the Back Lands." Fahari added. "No Pride Landers to terrorize there."

"I'll believe you," Vitani started. "But only if you let us escort you there."

"Fine, fine." Fahari said. Him and Jiona rolled their eyes.

Since they were already almost out of the Pride Lands, the escorting of the two leopards didn't take long at all. "Now, get out and don't come back!" Vitani said to them. The two leopards ran off quickly.

With a maniac laugh, Shabaha said, "Nice one, Vitani."

"Now let's head back to the Pride Lands." Vitani suggested.
