"Kion, you need to come to the Pride Lands." Dotty was saying to Kion.

"Is something wrong, Dotty?" Kion asked. "Is my family in trouble?"

"Not really," Dotty replied. "Apparently, your parents had a son before you and Kiara were born-"

"What?!" Kion shouted in disbelief.

"...and now he's back," Dotty continued, giving Kion an annoyed look. "His name's Kopa, and he claims he ran away, or something. It's kind of a long story."

"I-" Kion stuttered, not knowing what to even think or say. He turned to his wife, who was also shocked. "Rani, what should I do?" he asked her.

"I think you should go see your brother, Kion." Rani answered. "What about you?" Kion asked. "If I'm going to meet my long-lost brother, you're coming with me." Rani smiled, accepting with no hesitation.

"Who will be in charge of the Tree of Life while we're gone?" Kion wondered aloud. Rani called her brother, Baliyo, over, and told him about the whole deal.

"I know exactly who could help us," Kion said, with a smile. "Bunga! Binga!"

The two honey badgers rolled over to where Kion, Rani and Dotty were. "We're here, Kion!" Bunga announced, leaping to his feet.

"Me and Rani are going on a small trip," Kion told the honey badgers. "I want you to be in charge of the Tree of Life while we're gone."

"Us! In charge!?" Bunga and Binga both said at once. "Are you sure this is a good idea, Kion?" Baliyo asked his brother-in-law. "Maybe they could use some help."

"I agree," Rani said. "Perhaps Baliyo could help them?" Kion nodded his approval. "Alright then. Bunga, Binga and Baliyo will be in charge."

"This is gonna be so much fun!" Binga exclaimed. "It sure will be," Baliyo added, somewhat playfully. "I'll tell the rest of the Night Pride about this." As he leaped away, Fuli and Azaad came over to the group.

"Hey, Kion," said Fuli. "Is something going on?" "We heard you are going on a trip," Azaad added. Kion nodded. "Me and Rani are going to the Pride Lands to meet...my long-lost brother." Kion still hardly believed what he said.

"If you're going all that way, we're coming too!" Fuli proclaimed. "Are you with me, Azaad?"

"I'm with you, Fuli!" Azaad replied. "Are you sure you two wanna come?" Rani asked. "I think Bunga and Binga might need a little more help besides Baliyo."

"If you have a long-lost brother, Kion, I want to meet him." Fuli confidently said.

Dotty rolled her eyes. MORE travelers, she thought in annoyance. Kion and Rani finally agreed to let Fuli and Azaad come, while Surak and Nirmala were informed about the whole ordeal. After saying goodbye to Rani's family, and Kion's other friends, the group of five headed out right away.

The two sets of mates would have gladly taken their time, chatting happily, but Dotty made sure the group kept going at a faster pace. Thus, the group arrived at the Pride Lands three weeks later.

Meanwhile, after their recent interaction, Vitani had become much more comfortable with Kopa. At Imara's urging, Vitani let him come on nearly every patrol her Lion Guard took, to not as much annoyance, and Vitani and Kopa occasionally struck up conversation in the afternoons. Imara was glad Vitani had warmed up to Kopa.

At last, Dotty, Kion, Rani, Fuli and Azaad made it to Pride Rock. "Finally!" Dotty said, exhausted. "I thought that trip would never end, with you chatterboxes." The others smiled innocently.

Kiara was the first to see Kion. Her face lit up as soon as she saw him. "Kion! You made it!" she exclaimed happily. She bounded up to her younger brother and exchanged a quick nuzzle.

Rani smiled. "I'm glad to see you, too, Rani." Kiara said to her nicely. "Thank you, Kiara," Rani replied.

Fuli and Azaad were also greeted warmly. Simba and Nala came up to the group shortly, glad to see their youngest son, daughter-in-law, and the cheetahs again.

Dotty the Royal Herald

"Thank you kindly for your faithful services, Dotty." Simba said to the grayish-colored lioness. "How can we repay you?" Nala inquired.

With a groan, Dotty said, "Nothing's necessary, your highness. What I REALLY want is a nap." With thanks from the other lions, and Fuli and Azaad, Dotty went into Pride Rock and lay down instantly, falling asleep within moments.

Outside, Kopa had heard the commotion and had made his way towards the others. Vitani got up from laying down, hanging out with Imara before, and felt led to walk beside him to Pride Rock.

Kopa leaped onto Pride Rock, and Kion met his gaze. The two brothers looked at each other, Kion walking up to the larger male lion. "So, you're Kopa...my older brother?"
