It was a lovely morning at the mystical Tree of Life. The Night Pride was returning from their night-long patrol when all of a sudden, they heard a blood-curdling scream coming from the mountain pass. Queen Rani turned to Ullu, the snow owl and her majordomo. "Ullu, see what that scream is and what's causing it," the queen firmly instructed. "Will do!"' Ullu replied as she flew off with the Night Pride close behind her.

The screams were coming from a gorgeous unknown lioness. She was trying to fend off Makucha and his pack, but they were quickly overpowering her. That's when Ora, the ruthless komodo dragon, bit her in her back leg, paralyzing her completely! "Ah! Help!" the helpless lioness painfully screeched."Not so strong, are you?" Makucha cruelly teased.

"She might not be, but we are!" said a voice from above. Both the villains and the lioness looked up to find the Night Pride looming above them on the overhanging rock. "Leave that lioness alone!" shouted Baliyo, the queen's younger brother. The lioness had a captivating brown pelt, lovely turquoise eyes, and a beautiful presence. Then, the pride went in to attack!

It was a long and hard fight. Makucha and his gang were persistent, but the Night Pride were stronger. Eventually, the villains decided that having to suffer any longer wasn't worth it, so they retreated. The lioness's rescuers then turned to her as she smiled gratefully. "Hello. My name is Kweli. I thank you for saving me, Night..." she stopped mid-sentence as her eyes met Surak's, "...Pride. Hello there," she greeted him.

Surak was the eldest of the Night Pride and also the most stoic; even he was enchanted by her. Both he and Kweli blushed when they saw one another. "Rani, I think Surak might have found his soul mate," Baliyo told his sister. Rani nodded in agreement at her brother's words. By then, Kweli had already regained the strength to walk again.

But, their parade would soon be rained on. As soon as Kweli started to stand, she noticed a very foul smell in the air.

"Ugh! What's that smell?!" she disgustedly growled. Her face turned a putrid green as she covered her nose with her paws. Surak nuzzled her for comfort, but even he was overpowered by the stench. He sniffed the air a bit more and realized that it was just his honey badger friends, Bunga and Binga. "Sorry about that. Are you alright, Kweli?" Bunga asked, concerned.

"Right as rain, honey badgers. Just a bit disgusted by the odor is all," she answered. Kweli's voice was just as intoxicating as her kind words. "Come on. Let's get you to the Tree of Life," Nirmala told her new friend. On the way there, Rani noticed her uncle smiling, which due to his normally unfazed demeanor, was very rare to her. "Are you OK back there, Surak?" she calmly asked.

"Rani, I love Kweli. In the same way you love Kion. But, I don't know how to win her heart. Can you please help me?" he asked his niece. "Of course, Uncle Surak. You've always helped me, so I'll help you," Queen Rani agreed. When they reached the Tree of Life, she took her uncle aside to teach him her ways. "First, you must be kind to Kweli. Don't say or do anything that would make her upset. Second, patience. Getting a lioness like her to fall in love with you will take time," she told him. "One more thing, be yourself. If you do, Kweli will want to marry you in no time!"

So, that's what Surak did. He followed his niece's instructions and she was right. In record time, he and Kweli soon became mates. Kweli saw something special inside of Surak: his kindness, patience, care, and nobility. A few months later, they were ready to be married.

At the wedding, both the bride and groom were excited. Their souls would be intertwined in minutes. Soon after each of them gave their vows, it was time. "I now announce you husband and wife!" announced Makini, the Royal Mjuzi.

The two lions nuzzled lovingly as the citizens of the Tree of Life cheered. "I knew it. Surak would eventually find his true love. And he did," King Kion told his mate. Soon after, Kweli lived a happy life at the Tree of Life with her soulmate, Surak, and the rest of her new family. The moral of the story here is, "Be yourself and you will succeed in finding the one you love". The End
