Timon lives a carefree life, and follows the motto Hakuna Matata, which means no worries. He is always laid-back and enjoys eating bugs like his friend, Pumbaa. He detests work, preferring to just relax. He is shown to care greatly for his adoptive nephew, Bunga.

History[]

Backstory[]

Timon was born to Ma and his father in his uncle's colony. As a child, he was raised by Ma and his Uncle Max on how to be a meerkat. His Ma also taught him that everything the light touches belongs to someone else. Despite being trained to be a guard and sentry, Timon always let his colony down, much to the displeasure of Max. In search of a better life, he sought out Rafiki, who helped him find his soon-to-be best friend, Pumbaa. Timon and Pumbaa eventually found their jungle and began living there under their Hakuna Matata philosophy. Timon, along with Pumbaa, found Simba, who had passed out under the heat of the desert after running away from his home. The pair brought him back to their jungle home and raised him to follow the Hakuna Matata life. When Simba traveled back to the Pride Lands to battle his evil uncle Scar, the pair went with him to help reclaim the Pride Lands by distracting, and later defeating, Scar's hyena army with the help of Timon's mother and uncle.

After the battle, Timon and Pumbaa were allowed to live in the Pride Lands ever since. Timon and Pumbaa were walking through the Pride Lands one day, in search of Utamu grubs when a very young honey badger approached them. Pumbaa wanted to keep him, but Timon protested, pointing out that they had already raised a lion. He sent the honey badger off to gather grubs in the hopes of getting rid of him, but the honey badger was quick to return with his findings. Timon thanked him and continued on his search for the Utamu. The honey badger followed him and was able to find Utamu grubs for Timon and Pumbaa by climbing up a dead tree. Timon was very grateful, and he decided to keep the honey badger, calling him by the name of Bunga.

A Wonderful Royal Summit[]

In the early hours of the morning, Bunga excitedly exclaims to the Lion Guard that they need to hear what Pumbaa did yesterday. He explains that he, Timon, and Pumbaa were at the watering hole minding their business until Pumbaa saw a grub hovering above the water. Beshte, intrigued, asks what happened next, and Bunga says that when Pumbaa sees a grub he wants, he goes for it. He dove into the water, but his tusks stuck up out, which caused the nearby Pride Landers to spook, as they thought he was a crocodile. He and Timon laughed so hard that they were unable to inform Pumbaa of what had happened, bursting into laughter himself.

Bunga then warmly embraces his uncles. Later, Timon, along with Nguruma and Pumbaa, is attacked by Reth's Pride at Lake Shangaza. The Lion Guard, Mhina, and Anga come to their rescue, and Kion soon blasts Reth's Pride away with the Roar of the Elders. Timon is grateful to have been saved, and he and Pumbaa warmly embrace Bunga. They allow him to return home with the rest of his friends, and at Pride Rock, Bunga reports that his uncles are back at Hakuna Matata Falls. After rescuing Nguruma from the Outlands, Bunga returns to Hakuna Matata Falls to help his uncles collect grubs, and Ono joins him. When departing the Lion Guard, Bunga says that Timon and Pumbaa are expecting him. When Scar commences his war on the Pride Lands, Timon is one of the many animals present at the base of Pride Rock. After the Lion Guard, Makini, and Nguruma return home, Timon is apart of the crowd that gathers at the base of Pride Rock. When Bunga heads to Hakuna Matata Falls, he embraces Timon and Pumbaa and has a bug buffet with them, Ma, Max, Binga, and her family.
