The Lion King IV: Subira's Beginning is a fan-fiction story written by MarioFan65. This story is a sequel to The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, focusing on Kiara and Kovu's cub Subira as she journey through the Asis Pride and around the savannah. It is the first story of MarioFan65's Lion King trilogy. It was released on January 27, 2014.

  • A scene where Jengo licks Mody when they enter the Asis Pride, it was used for a base of Simba licking Timon by SunnytheHedgehog but the creation was made on MarioFan65's deviantART account.
  • The Lion Guard does not make an appearance in the story. It is unknown where the guard were doing during the events of the story.
    • As implied in The Lion Guard season 3 finale "Return to the Pride Lands", the Lion Guard resided with the Night Pride along with Rani after Kion became the new king of the Night Pride. So the guard did not return to the Pride Lands afterwards around the time Subira was born, although they could have make visits in the summer season to see Simba and the pride.
    • Vitani's Lion Guard does not make an appearance either. Vitani's Lion Guard may be out helping in the Pride Lands without their leader while being with Kopa around the time the events of the story were taking place in.
