It was a peaceful day in the Pridelands.

Kion and Kiara were spending time together at the Meadow.

They were settled down underneath the baobab tree.

"How was the hunt?" Kion asked.

"It was fine" Kiara answered.

She glanced up as Simba approached.

"Hi Daddy." Kiara said brightly.

"Is something wrong?" Kion asked.

"Kiara, I need you to do something." Simba said.

"What is it?" Kiara asked.

"The peace treaty with Sokwe needs to be renewed. Can you go to the Theluji Mountains?" Simba answered.

Kion and Kiara exchanged a glance.

"Yes, I'll go." Kiara said.

"Can I go too?" Kion asked.

Simba nodded.

"You must leave immediately." Simba said.

Kiara stood up, and nudged Kion to his paws.

"We'll be back before sundown." Kiara said.

"Give my regards to Sokwe." Simba said.

Kiara nodded.

She curled her tail around Kion's shoulders, and padded away.

"Will Hafifu and Majinuni be there?" Kion asked.

Kiara nodded.

As they crossed the border, Kiara turned to Kion.

"I'll need you to stay beside me. This is a dangerous journey." she said.

"Have you gone before?" Kion asked.

"Yes, I went with Mom and Daddy once when I was your age" Kiara answered.

As they approached the Theluji Mountains, Kion stopped suddenly.

"What is that, Kiara?" he asked.

Kiara chuckled.

"It's called snow." she explained.

Kion pressed himself against her.

"Do you want me to carry you?" Kiara asked.

Kion nodded.

Kiara bent down, and grasped Kion's scuff.

As they approached Sokwe's cave, Hafifu and Majinuni rushed to greet them.

"Hi!" Hafifu called.

Kiara set Kion down, and smiled as Hafifu and Majinuni approached.

"Is your father inside?" she asked.

Majinuni nodded.

Kiara and Kion padded into the cave.

They saw Sokwe waiting for them.

His troop was assembled behind him.

Sokwe smiled warmly as they approached.

"This is a pleasant surprise." he said.

Kiara cleared her throat.

"My father sends his regards. I am to renew the treaty." She said.

"Very well." Sokwe said.

“I, Princess Kiara herby renew the treaty of peace with King Sokwe of the Theluji Mountains.” Kiara said.

Kion watched Sokwe lean forward, and grasp Kiara's paw.

"I agree to the renewal" Sokwe said.

Kion moved forward, and nestled against Kiara's side.

"It's nice to see you Sokwe." He said.

Sokwe nodded.

"How are your friends?" he asked.

"They're fine." Kion said.

Kiara cleared her throat.

"We're expected back by sundown." Kiara said.

"Have a safe journey." Sokwe said.

Kiara nodded.

She and Kion headed out of the cave.

They made their way to the border, and crossed it.

When they reached Pride Rock, Simba rushed to greet them.

"How did it go?" he asked.

"It was fine" Kiara said.

"Kiara did a great job." Kion added.

Simba's expression softened

"I'm very proud of you." Simba said.

“Thanks, Daddy.” Kiara said.
