It was a beautiful day in the Pridelands.
The Lion Guard was patrolling Hapuna Valley.
"How's your family, Kion?" Ono asked.
"Everyone's fine." Kion said.
Kion glanced at Ono.
Ono nodded, and took to the sky.
He returned a moment later, and settled down on Beshte's back.
"It's all clear." Ono said.
"Thanks, Ono." Fuli said.
Kion cleared his throat.
“I need to go. Zuri wants to see me.” Kion said.
Fuli’s expression softened.
“Have a good time.” Fuli said.
Kion turned, and bounded off.
When he reached Pride Rock, he saw Zuri settled down outside the den.
Kion padded forward, and stretched to nuzzle Zuri’s cheek.
“Hi Zuri.” Kion said.
Zuri’s expression softened.
“Hi Kion.” Zuri said warmly.
Kion crawled into Zuri’s paws, and nestled against her.
Zuri rubbed a paw against Kion’s cheek.
“Did you have a good patrol?” Zuri asked.
Kion nodded.
“How are you today?” Kion asked gently.
Zuri sighed.
“I’m trying, Kion. It’s really hard.” Zuri said.
Kion’s expression softened.
“It’s okay, I understand.” Kion said.
He pressed himself against Zuri’s pelt.
“I love you.” Kion said.
Zuri bent her head, and nuzzled Kion’s cheek.
“I love you too, my darling.” Zuri said.
Meanwhile, Nita had met up with Rafiki at his tree.
She was helping him count juniper berries.
“How is Mari?” Rafiki asked.
“She’s fine.” Nita answered.
