It was a peaceful day in the Pridelands.

The Lion Guard was patrolling Hapuna Valley.

“How's Mari?” Fuli asked.

"She's fine." Kion answered.

Kion glanced at Ono.

Ono nodded, and took to the sky.

He returned a moment later, and settled down on Beshte's back.

"It's all clear." Ono said.

"Thanks, Ono." Fuli said.

Kion cleared his throat.

“I want to talk to Askari.” Kion said.

Fuli’s expression softened.

“Go ahead and talk to him.” Fuli said gently.

Kion moved forward, and cleared his throat.

“Askari, I want to talk to you!” Kion called.

He shivered as Askari’s spirit embraced him.

“Greetings, Kion.” Askari said.

Kion glanced behind him at Fuli.

Fuli’s expression softened, and she moved to settle down beside him.

“I want to know the story of how you discovered the Roar.” Kion said.

Askari’s expression softened.

“I wasn’t much older than you are now. I had gone to the Tree of Life to experience a lifestyle outside the Pridelands. I journeyed to Cikha Escarpment, and the Great Kings of the Past bestowed the Roar upon me.” Askari said.

Kion felt Fuli press herself against his side.

“Were you nervous to lead the Guard?” Kion asked.

“Yes, but I learned to accept the responsibility given to me, and established a team I trusted to protect the Pridelands.” Askari said.

“Will you teach me more about the Roar someday?” Kion asked.

“Of course, Kion. Mufasa and I believe you’re ready to learn more about it.” Askari said.

Fuli leaned her head against Kion’s shoulder.

“I love you, Askari.” Kion said warmly.

“I love you too, Kion.” Askari answered.

Kion watched Askari’s spirit fade away.

“Are you okay, Kion?” Fuli asked.

Kion nodded.

Meanwhile, Nita had met up with Rafiki at his tree.

She was helping him count juniper berries.

“How’s Mosi?” Nita asked.

“He is fine.” Rafiki said.
