Vitani and Kora were out taking a walk to the waterhole, Vitani was pregnant with her and Kora's first cub but it wasn't due for two weeks.
"Isn't this nice?" Vitani said, Kora smiled, "Yes it is." he said nuzzling her,
Vitani returned his affection.
"Our cub is due in two weeks." she said.
"Come on let's go home." Kora said, Vitani nodded and entwined her tail with his,
When they were halfway towards Pride Rock, Vitani suddenly gave a gasp of pain and doubled over.
"Darling what's wrong?" Kora asked.
"The baby is coming early." Vitani answered gasping for breath.
"We have to get you home." Kora said.
"There's no time." Vitani said,
Kora helped her lie down.
"It's going to be ok, just take deep breaths." he said soothingly,
"There's no time to get Rafiki either." Vitani said,
Just then she gave another gasp of pain.
"The baby is coming now." She said.
"It's ok I'm here." Kopa said pressing his muzzle to Vitani's.
"Darling push." he said,
Vitani complied and was rewarded with a small cub,
"Darling look at her." Vitani said tearfully.
"She's beautiful." Kora said.
"What should we call her?" Vitani asked.
" Nita." Kora said.
"All right, we better get her home." Vitani said.
Kora bent down and picked his cub up, " I'll carry her you lean against me." he said.
"Okay dear." Vitani said slowly getting up,
The three of them slowly made their way back to Pride Rock,
When they got there Kiara ran out to greet them and stopped in her tracks when she saw what Kora was holding.
"Tani who is that?" She asked.
"Kiara it's my cub." Vitani said,
"I thought she wasn't due for two weeks." Kiara said confused,
"She came early." Vitani answered,
"She's beautiful what's her name?" Kiara asked,
"Nita." Kora answered.
"We need to get her inside so Rafiki can give her a check up." Kiara said,
The three of them went inside,
Kovu ran over to them,
"Tani are you ok?" He asked,
"I'm fine." Vitani answered,
"Kovu, we have a niece." Kiara said,
"She's beautiful what's her name?" Kovu asked,
"Nita." Kiara answered,
Just then Rafiki appeared,
"Hello Vitani, it appears your cub decided to come early." he said chuckling,
"Is she going to be okay?" Kiara asked gazing at her niece,
"She should be fine, I suggest a week of rest and relaxation." Rafiki said,
Kora and Vitani thanked Rafiki.
Simba led Rafiki outside to talk and Vitani and Kora settled down with Nita and went to sleep.
Kiara and Kovu stayed awake talking before joining them.
