Surak is a male Asiatic lion that resides at the Tree of Life. He is the mate to a lioness named Kweli and the father and adoptive dad of Ilyssa andAmani. He is also best friends with a zorilla named Ibada. He is also the grandfather of Erevu, Maalum and Amani's young son. He is also the adoptive father of a human girl named Bozi.
Physical Structure[]
Surak is very strong and handsome. He has a prominent mane and dark fur. He also has a pointed nose, similar to Scar, Zira, and the Outsiders. He has large eyelids, but the actual size of Surak's eyes are tiny. He has the Mark of the Night Pride engraved in light brown on his right shoulder. His eyes are also brown.
Demeanor and Temperament[]
Surak is very kind and accepting. As explained in the story, To Win a Lion's Heart, he is a hopeless romantic. Toward Kweli, he is extremely charismatic. But, he does have an evil side to him however. He can be somewhat murderous and temperamental. His nickname by Ilyssa is "Jogina the Murderer". His mate, Kweli and his daughter, Amani act as his voices of reason.
He is also willing to comfort and counsel those who need it. In "Jogina the Murderer", he makes up for the deed of betraying Ilyssa by attending the funeral of her deceased parents, whom he killed.
