Shaka (also known as The strange lion by others) was a male lion who was responsible for giving Scar his scar. He was also the father of Zira.
Physical appearance[]
The strange lion was a muscular male lion. He had a brown mane and tail tip, a brown, hooked nose, and a head stripe on his forehead. His eyes were bright red, the left one bearing a pink scar. He had brown-tinted tan fur and a thick reddish-brown mane that was streaked with darker brown fur. His muzzle, paws, and underbelly were pale tan, while his eyebrows were thick and black. He had dark ear rims and long whiskers.
Personality[]
The strange lion was devious, cunning and opportunistic. He tricked a young Scar into forming an alliance with him and convinced him to overthrow Mufasa. However, the strange lion's cobra friend jumped out and gave Scar his scar, proving the strange lion was not really loyal to the young lion. He offered the antidote to the snake venom if Scar would do exactly what he told him, but Scar instead killed the strange lion and his cobra by blasting them away with the Roar of the Elders.
About[]
Sometime before his death, Shaka had a daughter named Zira. He also had a daughter named Bianca, and may have had several others. Zira lived in her father's cave (which was seen during Scar's performance of "How I Got My Scar") and was unaware of Scar's murdering her father. Thus, her loyalty to Scar never dwindled because of this.
Trivia[]
- His name was recently confirmed to be Shaka by Zira.
- Him, Zira and Shabaha are the only lions seen with a head stripe, until Majuto, Safiya and Miya are born into Simba's pride years later.
- Zira's children never knew of their grandfather (since he was deceased), or his role in giving Scar his name.
- The strange lion, Scar, Kovu, and Kion have all obtained scars from somewhere.
