Sonic and Simba's Bet is a fanfiction short written by MarioFan65. The short is a meta-crossover with Sonic the Hedgehog and The Lion King, focusing on Sonic and Simba reacting to Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Mufasa: The Lion King's trailers while making a bet. (One day in the Pride Lands at Pride Rock, Simba and his friends are hanging out in the dens while eating some grubs for lunch)

• Simba: These grubs are the bomb.
• Nala: Looking good.
• Kion: These bugs never get old.
• Kiara: Gross, but juicy and delicious.
• Kovu: I thought they feel a bit moist.
• Vitani: Do we really have to eat them every day?
• Rafiki: Not all. You can also eat a steak of meat on Tuesday.
• Vitani: I know what you mean.
• Zazu: *see a ring portal open up* Attention everyone! A portal has opened into our world!
• Kion: It feel like stranger danger.
• Kiara: What is going on?
• Timon: What's that?
• Pumbaa: Prepare yourselves!
• Sonic: *he and his friends emerge out of the ring portal* Hey-a King Simba!
• Simba: Hey! It's Sonic the Hedgehog, from SEGA!
• Tails: It's your pals, Tails here.
• Timon: From TailsTube!
• Pumbaa: We're from Wild About Safety.
• Knuckles: It's good to be here.
• Shadow: Why do I even bother.
• Rafiki: Sonic the Hedgehog, welcome to the Pride Lands. What brings you here?
• Sonic: Just chilling. We just wanted a play date for all of us.
• Simba: You got something cooking?
• Sonic: Yeah. Just to let you guys know that our new movie is coming up.
• Simba: Sweet.
• Sarabi: Ours is coming up too.
• Sarafina: You guys are gonna have a good time.
• Bunga: Zuka Zama!
• Rafiki: Sonic, you got some gifts. Your films made a lot of money at the box-office.
• Sonic: We sure do. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 comes out on December 20, 2024. Be there and be fast!
• Simba: December 20, 2024?
• Tails: Yes. That's when Sonic the Hedgehog 3 comes out.
• Nala: Doesn't Mufasa: The Lion King come out on December 20, 2024 too?
• Knuckles: So. You wanna watch our movie on December 20, 2024?
• Simba: No no no no no. December 20 is the day we're suppose to see Mufasa: The Lion King, our new movie.
• Sonic: Yeah, but you can watch ours.
• Tails: Go watch a good movie or something.
• Rafiki: We aren't aware of both of your films coming out on the same day.
• Vitani: We could watch Sonic the Hedgehog 3 over Mufasa since live-action remakes look bland and soulless.
• Simba: Hey. We could show a little respect and watch our new movie.
• Shadow: Can we just watch Mufasa first before we watch our movie?
• Sonic: No. We're suppose to see Sonic the Hedgehog 3!
• Simba: Why not watch our new movie first before we see yours.
• Tails: But the doors are gonna close and we won't be able to watch our own movie.
• Simba: You'll watch yours on the next day.
• Knuckles: We were invited for a reason!
• Timon: Why are we complaining?
• Pumbaa: We always have to complain for a reason why!
• Sonic: Just watch ours and we'll watch yours!
• Simba: No one wanna watch ours. Vitani is right! They think live-action remakes look soulless and bland with no color!
• Rafiki: Enough!
• Sonic: What?
• Simba: What he say.
• Zazu: Cut the complaining and listen to the wise words of Rafiki.
• Rafiki: There is no need to fight one another who has a movie better than one.
• Sonic: We were not judging, we were inviting.
• Simba: I'm confused why both of our films are coming out on the same day.
• Shadow: I'm surrounded by idiots.
• Nala: So, who's gonna watch one of your films first?
• Rafiki: Halt! You guys need a bet.
• Sonic: So we have a bet.
• Simba: A bet you say.
• Timon: Oh boy.
• Pumbaa: This is not going to end well.
• Sonic: How about we react to one of our trailers for our new movies and we'll talk.
• Simba: You guys react to Mufasa: The Lion King while we react to Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
• Sonic: Ah.
• Tails: So, do we like watch the trailers for each of your world's films?
• Nala: That's how the way it is.
• Rafiki: You guys from different franchises will react to the trailers of each of your films.
• Simba: Well Rafiki. You are from our world, right?
• Rafiki: Yes. Copyrighted by Disney.
• Sonic: Paramount adapt SEGA characters like us.
• Knuckles: So, are we going to do this thing or what?
• Rafiki: We are going to react to the trailers of our own movies right now, starting with Sonic the Hedgehog 3!
• Zazu: We Lion King characters are first to react.
• Sonic: We'll react to Mufasa: The Lion King, you guys react to Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
• Nala: Will do.
• Simba: My group, let's watch the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3!
• Rafiki: Here we go!

(Simba and his friends watch the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as they are amazed by all the action, CGI, cinematography and acting seen in the movie)

• Nala: It look amazing.
• Timon: Hey, who brought in some Chao in the movie?
• Pumbaa: I thought they would make a nice fine grub sandwich.
• Kion: It's incredible.
• Rafiki: Hoo hoo hoo. That is Sonic the Hedgehog 3!
• Sonic: Thanks Rafiki. We worked so hard on making this movie with Paramount.
• Zazu: All that money is going to the box-office!
• Tails: We're back for round three.
• Knuckles: We are having the fun!
• Shadow: Yeah. Whatever.
• Kion: Does anyone like the trailer for Sonic's new hit movie?
• Bunga: It was fun.
• Fuli: Awesome.
• Beshte: Sweet.
• Ono: I kinda liked it.
• Kiara: Who knew how much work, love and passion is put in the project.
• Rafiki: Any story telling is worth a dime.
• Zazu: Get some cash!
• Sonic: The more money you make, you get a follow-up.
• Rafiki: Great. But, you gotta watch the trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King next!
• Sonic: We're all next!
• Kovu: Now that a trailer worth watching.
• Vitani: Better than the trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King.
• Sarabi: If Mufasa was here, he would be quick to judge a movie by its terms and standards.
• Sarafina: I ask the same thing.
• Zazu: Team Sonic, your turn to watch the Mufasa: The Lion King trailer.
• Sonic: Uh huh.
• Tails: Yeah.
• Knuckles: Our turn to judge.
• Shadow: Just click play.
• Sonic: Alrighty. Let's get this over with and go with the show.

(Sonic and friends watch the trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King as they are amazed by the trailer by the photorealistic setting and pacing despite mixed reactions)

• Sonic: Oh wow.
• Tails: The CGI look photorealistic.
• Knuckles: It look just like in the Lion King remake.
• Shadow: It look bland. Why can't it be in traditional animation like the original 1994 film?
• Simba: So, what does everyone think about my father's trailer for his origin movie?
• Sonic: It look good.
• Tails: Solid.
• Knuckles: It's decent enough to win an award!
• Shadow: Sorry. I don't like it. It seems soulless like most Disney live-action remakes.
• Kovu: Vitani say the same thing.
• Vitani: Hey.
• Sonic: Solid, but decent.
• Rafiki: Ooh ooh ooh. Any story worth telling is worth telling twice.
• Sarabi: Glad we saw our own trailers.
• Sarafina: Everyone is gonna have a good time with these movies.
• Shadow: Whatever.
• Zazu: So we all react to our own trailers for our new movies. They look alright, but they are good.
• Rafiki: December 20 is gonna be a busy day for all of you.
• Simba: Sonic, you know what we're gonna do on that day.
• Sonic: We're gonna have a double feature!
• Timon: Double feature for the win!
• Pumbaa: I love it!
• Tails: Double feature, yeah!
• Knuckles: So we're watching both movies back to back?
• Rafiki: Yes. We are going to watch both of our films on December 20. The big day is coming.
• Simba: Get ready for the red carpet premiere.
• Kiara: It's almost time.
• Kovu: Here we go.
• Vitani: Ugh.
• Sonic: See you at the movies.
• Simba: Hakuna Matata!

(At the movies, Sonic and Simba's gang go to the movies and grab all the food and snacks as they sit together in a theater room and prepare their biggest night)

• Simba: We're here.
• Sonic: It is time.
• Tails: The bet worked.
• Nala: Let's go.
• Simba: Dad, I wish you were here. You're gonna love it.
• Mufasa: *voice* Remember.
• Shadow: Live and learn.
• Rafiki: Shh. It's starting.
• Zazu: Enjoy! No talking or texting during the movie.

(Sonic and Simba's friends sit together and enjoy the show in their screen in the cinemas)
