Shupavu's Group meets with other antagonists at Broken Rock and the Outlands Volcano. Later, they meet with Janja's Clan, Ushari, and Mzingo's Committee at Broken Rock. Later, Shupavu and Waza spy on the Lion Guard, Mhina, and Anga in Embamba Canyon, and soon report back to Ushari and Reth. They later listen in to another meeting with Ushari and the Outlanders at Broken Rock, where it is revealed that they can summon Scar. Soon, Shupavu and Njano spy on the Lion Guard and their friends, reporting back to Ushari. They head to the caldera to speak to Scar, who is pleased, and decides to stage an attack. Shupavu and Njano then head off after being assigned to fetch Kiburi's Float. Later, Shupavu and Nyata spy on the Lion Guard as they meet up with the Tumaini Pride at Lake Matope and bring them to Pride Rock.
Inside the volcano, Shupavu and Nyata watch as Scar shares the news of the Tumaini Pride's arrival and stages another attack. After another failed attack, Shupavu's Group is in the volcano as Scar expresses his desire to take out Rafiki and Makini. He says that the skinks told him Rafiki and Makini were meditating at Mapango Cliffs. Soon, Shupavu and Njano spy on the Lion Guard bringing the kingdom delegations to Pride Rock, and they report this news to Scar. When Scar commences his war on the Pride Lands, Shupavu's Group is present in the volcano. Later, Scar orders Shupavu's Group to stop the Lion Guard from entering the caldera in order to give the illusion he is putting up a fight, but they are quickly swatted away.
