Shinuni is a male hyena and a member of Kubariki's Clan.
Appearance[]
Shinuni is dark reddish-brown in color and has a sandy mane and legs, with each of his limbs broken up by stripes the same color as his fur. His face is ash-colored and tinted slightly brown. His tail is tipped with dark brown. His ears are dark magenta, his nose is black, and his eyes are light mocha with yellow sclerae.
Personality []
Shinuni is described is honest and bright-hearted. He is also intelligent, probably more than Shinda. However, what differs him from Shinda is that he does his best to be positive and spirited, and as a result can sometimes fail to understand how serious a situation is. Like his friend, Shinuni is more sympathetic and good-sided.

The Rogue Hyena[]
Shinuni and Shinda rush into the clearing, shouting for Kubariki, who demands what's going on. Shinda reports that they were hunting in the Outlands and heard a distressed animal crying. Immediately, the adult members of the clan set off to find the animal, and turning to Shinda and Shinuni, Mlinzi asks if they know the species of animal, but Shinda apologizes, stating that they couldn't decipher it. Madoa questions Shinuni on where the animal is, to which he responds that it's near the cliffs. When they find the animal, a striped hyena that is badly injured, the clan works to gain his trust. Mlinzi offers for him to ride on his, Shinda, and Shinuni's back, which he accepts, and Jasiri and Kubariki help him on. They take him back to Chakula Plains and place him in a nest. One week later, Shinuni watches the hyena, a vagabond named Shalo, depart in better health.
Wildfire Emergency[]
Shinuni and his clan are caught in a massive wildfire at Chakula Plains; the Lion Guard arrives to put it out. He and the other hyenas help extinguish the blaze and also help to put out the fires at Mbali Fields later on.
