It was an inactive day. Vitani decided to pay a visit to the lions who often dwelt behind Pride Rock.
She padded up to them casually. "Hi, guys."
Digger, Beauty Spot, Dotty and Spotty all perked their ears up. "Well hi Vitani!" Digger said. "Didn't expect to see you around here."
"We all live at Pride Rock now," Vitani reminded her. "I've been occupied, that's all."
"Too busy with your Lion Guard friends that you forgot about us, 'Tani?" Dotty inquired, with a smirk. "Your childhood friends from the Outlands?"
"I never forget about you guys," Vitani answered. "I just have new responsibilities to take care of." She lay down in the shade with her friends.
"How's life been for you all?" Vitani asked them.
"Anything's better than life in the Outlands." Spotty told her. "It's so nice to have plenty of food to eat."
"I definitely agree," Dotty added, giving her sister a nuzzle.
Beauty Spot smiled, "I'm grateful everyday that we have been welcomed back into Simba's pride."
She told Vitani, "You're lucky to have Kiara as your sister-in-law. She's so kind. The Outsiders and Pride Landers never would have stopped fighting without her."
"Yes, she is very special." Vitani agreed. "Kiara's like the sister I never had. Her and Kovu make the best couple."
"I agree," Digger said. "How are you and Kopa doing?"
Vitani replied, "We're fine. We found our own cave near Pride Rock, and he's started to understand more how important my Lion Guard duties are to me."
"If it wasn't for Kopa, I never would have met Afua," Spotty smiled dreamily about her mate.
The others chuckled. They listened to the sweet silence of a beautiful day and watched the breeze gently blow against the leaves on the trees.
"Spring is my favorite time of year," Beauty Spot said. "Everything has a brand new start."
"Mmm hmm," Dotty said. "A great time to start over." Spotty added.
They sat in each others' company peacefully.
After several minutes, Vitani stood up. "I've gotta go. I promised Nala I would join her on a hunting squad this afternoon."
"Have fun, 'Tani." Digger said. "It was great hanging out with you again."
"Bye!" Beauty Spot smiled, as Vitani bounded off. She smiled back at her friends, pleasant nostalgia gripping her.
"That Vitani has grown beautifully," Spotty said, after Vitani left. "I remember when she and I were young cubs."
"Time sure flies, doesn't it?" Digger commented.
"Yeah," the Spots agreed.
The rest of the day was flooded with good memories.
