“Life is not fair, is it, my little friend?” - one of Scar’s most famous lines. Scar, born Omari, was the son of Ahadi and Uru, brother of Omari, and the tyrant king of Priderock. He is currently an evil spirit at the ashes of Scar’s Volcano. He is the main antagonist of the original film, an unseen supporting character in the sequel, a supporting protagonist, later antagonist, in Shenzi’s Journey and a supporting antagonist in The Lion King: The Next Generation.
Appearance[]
Cub[]
Omari had dark bronze fur, a streak of black hair through his head, and a pale muzzle and underbelly. He had some small spots on his legs.
Teenager[]
Omari had a bigger then usual black mane, had darker fur, pale paws, a pale underbelly, a pale muzzle, and the spots faded away. He had a scar after a cobra injured him.
Adult[]
Scar looks relatively similar to his teenager\young adult appearance, yet bigger with a weaker build. He has still keep his scar. Scar’s mane has grown.
Personality[]
Scar was mean, cruel, power-hungry, and a favoriting lion since he started thinking about stealing the throne. Scar was pretty nice, playful, and flexible as a cub. Many lions had hatred for his rather violent unfairness. He liked his parents a lot, but hated how they favored Mufasa. Because of this, Scar and Ahadi got into a fight. As a cub, however, he was playful, curious, usually respectful, and innocent. Anger sometimes led to him scarring his playmates.
Biography[]
![]() |
Infant years[]
Omari was born to Ahadi and Uru. During his early cub years, his brother, Mufasa, was born. Omari was first in line, but never really got to the throne of king.
Cubhood[]
It was because he had the roar, and according to most laws, anyone with the roar cannot succeed to the throne; it is thought to put too much power to the king. Ahadi had a previous son with Uru named Ashiri, but he ran off to one of the other Old Kingdoms, so that’s possibly why Omari obtained the roar. This upset Omari, thus running to the outlands and meeting with Shenzi.
As he was heir, Mufasa was favorited. Omari was often ignored, but well-cared for. Uru was way more attentive to him than Ahadi was. Omari would often play in the Outlands with an outlander named Zira. After the Strange Lion heard about Zira’s interactions, he knew a way to defeat Omari. Meanwhile, Omari was assigned as the leader of the Lion Guard. He assigned his friends.
Teenhood[]
Omari was walking one day, his newly-grown mane brushing through the Prideland grass. He noticed a mysterious outlander coming, and as he was about to attack, the outlander knew Omari was only getting more jealous. The jealous lion tricked him into thinking Scar was the worthy king. This jealous lion, Amon, had his motives to steal the throne tucked away. The young prince blindly joined his organization, only later to get into a trap where a cobra bit his eye. Amon said he would cure Omari of the venom if he did everything he said, but Omari was quick to run away and hurt the older lion. Because of his new injury, several beings called him Scar. Angered, Scar took the name and killed the mysterious lion. Scar wanted to become king badly now, killing his guard. He was eventually exiled.
Scar, exiled, knew how to get the throne himself. He would ally with the hyenas. Although the hyenas were in famine, ruled by a dictator who claimed the throne when Amari abdicated and disappeared, and clearly so desperate some tried to cannibalize each other, Scar somehow knew they would be strong fighters. He tricked the current ruler, Zuhour, into death, and appointed Shenzi his leader of the hyenas. Shenzi and Scar were close friends until after the Battle of Pride Rock.
Adulthood[]
Scar grew up and still had some of the hyenas in his power. However, many left due to Scar “breaking” his promise for food. Simba was born, which made him rather angry. Scar had a plan, luring many more of the hyenas back into his power. This way, his army of hyenas could help him kill Mufasa and Simba. Scar did kill Mufasa in a stampede, but Simba had ran away. This meant Scar was now king, and ruled the Pridelands. Eager to make heirs, he insisted to become mates with Nala when she was old enough, but failed just to even interest her into marriage. Just a few months prior to the Battle of Pride Rock, some of his hyena servants left to rule another kingdom for themselves. Scar thought this had some relation to Amon.
Scar was eventually defeated by a full-grown Simba who had returned, and, after eaten by Shenzi’s helpers. became an evil lion of the past.
Spirithood[]
Evil lions of the past were faces in flames that represented the lion. Scar used this to damage the Pridelands. His plan was to stop Simba and his son, Kion. Kion had the roar like him: either he could brainwash Kion into his plans, or leave him with a scar, ultimately crumbling the Lion Guard the way he did. However, Kion was strong despite some of the plan succeeding. Scar’s spirit was eventually defeated. He still is a little flame with scar features in a log near the ashes of his volcano.
