Scar (born Akili) is a male lion. He is the son of Ahadi and Uru, the younger brother of Mufasa, the mate of Zira, and the father of Nuka.
Appearance[]
Living[]
Scar's pelt is orange, while his muzzle, paws, and underbelly are paler in color. His mane is black, and his eyes are green. He has a scar across his left eye.
Spirit[]
As a fiery spirit, Scar has a dark orange-brown coloring with a yellow nose and markings on his ears and face. He has pale yellow eyes. His scar is shown as being pure white.
Personality[]
Scar is ruthless, mean-spirited, power-hungry, envious, cruel, pernicious, manipulative, charismatic, and psychopathic. His jealousy stemmed from the fact that his brother was chosen to be king, a role which Scar believed should belong to him for boasting more intelligence. Scar was so hungry for power that he resorted to removing his own family permanently and destroying the kingdom. It was his thirst for power that caused him to lose the Roar of the Elders. Unlike the majority of Pride Landers, he does not believe in the Circle of Life concept and cares only about himself and his own glory. He is also highly intelligent, capable of planning ingenious schemes, and has a very low tolerance for individuals who show a lack of intelligence and for failure. Scar has been known to use others to perform his deeds, keeping himself out of sight from those who may cause him harm and sometimes gets overconfident.

Backstory[]
Akili was born to Ahadi and Uru, along with his brother, Mufasa. As a child, he learned about the culture of the Pride Lands and traditions, though soon realized that he was overshadowed by Mufasa, causing him to harbor extreme jealousy, but he put up with it nonetheless to please his family. When he was a teenager, Akili discovered that he was gifted with the Roar of the Elders and gained the Mark of the Guard on his shoulder. Around this time, he also fell in love with Sarabi, but she chose to become mates with Mufasa instead. Akili chose his members of the Guard, and picked Omorede as the bravest, Rehema as the fastest, Siwatu as the strongest, and Angani as the keenest of sight. In his adult years, Ahadi and Uru passed away, and Mufasa and Sarabi became the ruling monarchy. While Akili often led his Guard on patrols and battles, he took patrols by himself. In one of these patrols, he met a lioness named Zira and taught her all about the Roar of the Elders, finding her charming. On another patrol, he met a strange lion and cobra named Giza and Ubaya. They filled his brain with ideas of takeover and overthrowing Mufasa as king, and when Akili wasn't suspecting anything, Giza bit him over his eye and scarred it. Ubaya promised that the venom from the cobra bite would be cured, but in anger, Akili instead blasted him and his partner to a land far away.
Enraged that Mufasa ridiculed him instead of praising him for defeating the lion and cobra, Akili, now named Scar, planned to dethrone his older brother as king by using the Roar of the Elders against him. When the rest of his Lion Guard refused to assist him in an attempted assassination plot, Scar was furious and eliminated them by using the Roar of the Elders on them, forming Broken Rock in the process. As punishment for using the Roar of the Elders for evil, Scar became weakened by this misdeed and lost the ability to use the Roar forever, making him shriveled and worse. In the years that followed his Lion Guard's downfall, Scar still concentrated his life on plotting to claim his older brother's throne and continued to devise schemes with three hyenas from the Elephant Graveyard, led by a female hyena named Shenzi, to rule the Pride Lands. After his nephew, Simba, was born, stripping him as Mufasa's successor to the throne, Scar plotted with the hyenas to kill both him and his older brother and take control of the Pride Lands.
In the end, though, he was only able to slaughter Mufasa using a wildebeest stampede and convinced a young Simba to run away, blaming him for Mufasa's death. During his rule as king, Scar destroyed the Pride Lands and allowed the hyenas in, leading to the starvation of the lionesses and most of Mufasa's followers turning against him; Scar also gained some loyalists heralded by Zira, whom he fell in love with. They bore one son together, Nuka, though both looked down upon the young cub for being weak. Scar faced little to no challenges to his leadership until Simba came back as a young adult and discovered the truth behind Mufasa's death. He battled his uncle, defeating him and reclaiming the Pride Lands. After Scar was defeated by Simba and thrown off Pride Rock into a burning fire that broke out during the fight, he was double-crossed, attacked, and eaten alive by his hyena henchmen. Scar then joined the Evil Lions of the Past. Soon, the animals of the Outlands managed to summon him back as a fiery ghost in the volcano, and with his form restored to a degree, Scar would cause much havoc to the Pride Lands with new plans. However, he underestimated Kion's strength, and ultimately, the teenage lion would call on the Spirits of the Past to vanquish his great-uncle permanently.
