  • Pumbaa:

It's really so important that you have to shout it

You gotta get safety smart

  • Timon: Oh yeah.
  • Pumbaa: You gotta get safety smart.
  • Timon: That means you.
  • Pumbaa:

You gotta get safety

Gotta get safety

  • Both: Gotta get safety smart.
  • Timon: Oh yeah!

(After the intro, the camera move away from Timon and Pumbaa as we head across the Hakuna Matata jungle as we see Timon and Pumbaa watching TV together on the sofa in the living room)

  • Timon: Pumbaa, is watching television a lot of fun?
  • Pumbaa: Yeah. You get to switch out every channel you wanna watch like sports, comedy, cartoons, live shows and a lot more.
  • Timon: That's what i love about television. It make me wanna go from channel to channel like going from place to place like Pride Rock.
  • Pumbaa: Oh, Timon. You gotta listen to this.
  • Timon: What is this?
  • Meerkat Reporter: *on the TV, live from the news about the coronavirus* Breaking news. There is a deadly disease pandemic going on in the Pride Lands. It is coronavirus. Also known as COVID-19. It is said to be highly variable, ranging from unnoticeable to life-threatening. Many symptoms and variants will spread across the globe. In order to prevent getting the virus, you must social distance six feet away, wear a mask, stay at home and wash your hands. You think i am joking, but i'm not. It is deadly serious to all the animals who are watching this and are aware to catch a cold like this.
  • Timon: Coronavirus? COVID-19? Psssstttt. *laugh* Ha ha. What kind of virus is named coronavirus? It's a hoax.
  • Pumbaa: Timon, i'm serious. It's not a hoax, it's a deadly virus.
  • Timon: Like what? Have you ever seen a rabbit wear glasses? Of course not. Or a rabbit in pink for Easter.
  • Pumbaa: Timon, every time the world goes on quarantine like i say, we're on lockdown, you cannot be going out in high places.
  • Timon: Why not? I've been to the movie theater once, i saw a football game at the jungle and i went to a ice cream shop with my best buds.
  • Pumbaa: Cause you're going to get sick out there and do you know what happen if you get sick?
  • Timon: Um, take a flying leap?
  • Pumbaa: You'll die.
  • Timon: Ah! No! Please no! Gosh darn no. I don't wanna die from a flu virus. I'm too young to die out young.
  • Pumbaa: Okay Timon. I'll tell you everything you need to know about the coronavirus. You really need some urgent medical attention, right?
  • Timon: *gulp* Right.
  • Pumbaa: *videos show symptoms of coronavirus floating around bodies* Coronaviruses are a type of virus. There are many different kinds, and some cause disease. A coronavirus identified in 2019, SARS-CoV-2, has caused a pandemic of respiratory illness, called COVID-19.
  • Timon: Like who name a virus like COVID-19 like New Year 2024?
  • Pumbaa: I don't know. It's just the name they refer to. *videos show coronaviruses spreading from person to person* This coronavirus can spread from person to person. It make them sick and contagious. One can either survive with it or not. Elders may face the biggest death of their life from getting coronavirus. But the only way to get rid of the symptoms is to wash your hands! *videos show a person watching his/her hands* Scrub for like 15 seconds. Rinse like the water is going down and drying on you. I almost forget, after rinsing, clean your hands with a towel or a paper towel. Your choice.
  • Timon: Oh, i know how to wash my hands. *wash his hands in the pool*
  • Pumbaa: No Timon. That's the pool! To wash your hands, you need to go on the sink like you always use in the bathroom.
  • Timon: Oh, right. The bathroom sink it is! *rush to the bathroom sink and wash his hands* Scrub scrub scrub. *turn off the sink* Done.
  • Pumbaa: Did you dry them out?
  • Timon: Yes.
  • Pumbaa: Did you use the soap to clean your hands?
  • Timon: Soap? Who said we have to use soap to clean?
  • Pumbaa: You forgot the soap! Silly Timon, i forget to tell you this, but i'm sorry. *videos show footage on cleaning your hands with soap* When you wash your hands, you might wanna use the soap to clean your hands with water. Make sure you scrub them nice and neat for like 15 seconds and clean them out like you're taking a shower. Avoid touching your face or other things when your hands are clean and preparing food and changing things that you touch.
  • Timon: *clean his hands with soap and water on the sink* That's what i'm talking out. Don't remind me to forget.
  • Pumbaa: Thank you.
  • Timon: You're welcome.
  • Pumbaa: And now, we're going to take a walk.

(Timon and Pumbaa take a walk in the jungle with few animals walking out with their masks on)

  • Pumbaa: You see here Timon. A lot of people are wearing masks to keep them protected from catching the virus. Many of us will wear a surgical mask like in the hospital.
  • Timon: A mask? You mean like a Tiki mask? *wear a Tiki mask and chant* Ooh, ahh, oh, tiki tiki. Ooh, ahh, oh, tiki tiki.
  • Pumbaa: No! Not that mask. *hold up a surgical mask* A real mask!
  • Timon: Oh, i thought you were saying like a Tiki mask to use to throw out summer parties and pirate parties all over the place.
  • Pumbaa: Timon, i'm acting serious about this. This is not a funny lesson, it's a serious lesson to learn about being safety smart.
  • Timon: Okay. Being safety smart is like being safety smart in the jungle. Also, where do we wear a mask?
  • Pumbaa: You must wear a mask under your mouth and nose. *wear his mask*
  • Timon: I can't believe you. *wear a mask without covering his nose* Done.
  • Pumbaa: 'Scuse me, your facing the wrong way.
  • Timon: What way? I don't see any cars or buses passing by.
  • Pumbaa: Your mask is not supposed to be on the mouth only. Your nose is not being covered by the mask. That's what happen when people like you don't pay attention to the rules.
  • Timon: *use the mask to cover his nose* Like this?
  • Pumbaa: Perfect.
  • Timon: Thank you.
  • Pumbaa: *videos show footage of people wearing a mask* When you wear a mask, you protect others as well as yourself. Masks work best when everyone wears one. A mask is NOT a substitute for social distancing. Masks should still be worn in addition to staying at least 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who don’t live in your household. Masks should completely cover the nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides of face without gaps. Masks should be worn any time you are traveling on a plane, bus, train, or other form of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations. People age 2 and older should wear masks in public settings and when around people who don’t live in their household. Wear a mask inside your home if someone you live with is sick with symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Timon: What does mean by testing positive?
  • Pumbaa: You won't believe this. *video footage shows about a person testing negative and positive for COVID-19* When the meter show if you have COVID-19 or not, let's just say you're tested negative. It means you don't have it. But if you are tested positive. Uh oh, it seem you have the coronavirus and you may want to stay home for a few days until you recovered from the virus. Going to crowded places like stadiums, movie theaters, parks, parties and cities may put your life on risk. Be careful where you walk in. You might wanna use the thermometer to test yourself on how you're feeling.
  • Timon: This is why i don't wanna catch the virus like catching the flu. Oh well, we're off to big places. *walk in front of people* Hey everybody, great day, isn't it?
  • Pumbaa: Wait! Timon. You shouldn't be walking with a lot of people.
  • Timon: Why not? That's how everyone walk in big name places.
  • Pumbaa: Social distancing. Remember the six feet away i told you about?
  • Timon: Social distance? What about it?
  • Pumbaa: *video footage show people social distancing in places six feet apart* Social distancing is a set of non-pharmaceutical interventions or measures intended to prevent the spread of a contagious disease by maintaining a physical distance between people and reducing the number of times people come into close contact with each other. It usually involves keeping a certain distance from others with the distance specified differs from country to country and can change with time and avoiding gathering together in large groups. Avoid close contact with people who are sick and Put 6 feet of distance between yourself and people who don’t live in your household.
  • Timon: I feel like we are staying away from people close contract who either have the virus or not. *point at a monkey* Like this guy right here. *see a monkey sneeze near him* Ah! It sneezes!
  • Pumbaa: Sneezing is something important within the virus. *video show footage of people sneezing* a semi-autonomous, convulsive expulsion of air from the lungs through the nose and mouth, usually caused by foreign particles irritating the nasal mucosa. A sneeze expels air forcibly from the mouth and nose in an explosive, spasmodic involuntary action. This action allows for mucus to escape through the nasal cavity. You can cough or sneeze into your mask. Put on a new, clean mask as soon as possible and wash your hands. Mlways cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or use the inside of your elbow and do not spit.
  • Timon: Ah, ah. Ah-choo! *sneeze*
  • Pumbaa: Timon, the elbow.
  • Timon: Right. *sneeze in the elbow*
  • Pumbaa: Much better.
  • Timon: If we can social distance, what is the only secret on not catching the virus?
  • Pumbaa: You know what everyone have been asking. Vaccines!
  • Timon: Vaccines for flu shots?
  • Pumbaa: No. This vaccine is made specially for the COVID-19 pandemic. *video footages show people getting vaccinated* Vaccines are biological preparation that provides active acquired immunity to a particular infectious disease. A vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins, or one of its surface proteins. The agent stimulates the body's immune system to recognize the agent as a threat, destroy it, and to further recognize and destroy any of the microorganisms associated with that agent that it may encounter in the future. Vaccines can be prophylactic to prevent or ameliorate the effects of a future infection by a natural or "wild" pathogen, or therapeutic to fight a disease that has already occurred, such as cancer. This special vaccine is made for COVID-19. When you take your vaccination shot, you feel like you have the less chance to catch the coronavirus. In three weeks, you get another shot and you will be protected against the virus at all costs and you get to go back doing your normal life like swimming, playing sports, going to the gym, hanging out in cities, going to the movies in the theaters and going to the beach. In other countries, you will wait months to get your second shot.
  • Timon: Ah, i knew when will we get our vaccination shots.
  • Pumbaa: Starting now. *he and Timon got the vaccination shots from the monkey doctors*
  • Timon: Whoa. I feel like i'm invisible.
  • Pumbaa: You're not going to catch the virus anytime soon Timon. It's just like taking your flu shot.
  • Timon: Amazing. I feel so empowered and perfect.
  • Pumbaa: Would it be cool to wrap up this COVID-19 lesson with a song?
  • Timon: What are you saying Pumbaa? Let's just face it with a song.
  • Pumbaa: Alright.

(Timon and Pumbaa jump across a blue and pink background to sing a song about the coronavirus and everything in the footage they learn about)

  • Timon and Pumbaa:

Stay safe!

Wash your hands

Scrub and rinse in the sink

And when you clean your hands with a towel

Dry them out and avoid your touching from dirty things

Stay safe!

Wear a mask

Social distance six feet away

And avoid gatherings like crowds and parties

But you can't be throwing a party when the world out there is dying

Wear your mask on the correct way, not without covering your nose or neck

One more time!

Stay safe!

Get vaccinated

Find a local vaccination place to get your vaccine shot

And you'll feel safe!

Three weeks or few months depending on what country you live in

Once you get the two shots, you will be fully safe and completed

As long you can go out and hang out and party!

Protect yourself, your family

Protect everyone you love

Together, we will defeat the virus!

(After the song, Timon and Pumbaa walk in the Hakuna Matata jungle through the path of their home)

  • Timon: Pumbaa, does it feel great to have our normal life back?
  • Pumbaa: Yes. But not for everyone else until the pandemic is over.
  • Timon: Man, i really missed going out in these places during the non-virus life.
  • Pumbaa: Well, as we wait, we will also have to get a booster shot around September 2021 to feel more safe and secured.
  • Timon: A booster shot? You want me to boost myself and run around in circles like a roadrunner?
  • Pumbaa: Anthony Fauci told us that everyone must get the booster shot by September 2021.
  • Timon: D'oh! Give me a break Pumbaa. I already been vaccinated.
  • Pumbaa: You're playing by your own rules, don't you?
  • Timon: Nope.
  • Pumbaa: Then good. Let's go grab a snack at the grub stand.
  • Timon: Good idea.
  • Pumbaa: No worries, Hakuna Matata.

THE END
