Nirmala is an adult lioness who lives at the Tree of Life. She is the mate of Surak, the mother of Aminia and Danyal, and the healer of the Night Pride.

She is a supporting character in Legends of the Lion Guard.

Appearance[]

Nirmala's pelt is brown, while her muzzle and underbelly are paler in color. Her eyes are blue. She wears a pink flower on her right ear.

Personality[]

Nirmala is a kind and gentle soul, who offers healing from the mind. She is a soft spoken lioness who thinks before she leaps. She is unendingly patient and kind, never losing her temper or her cool, and guiding others in the course of helping them to heal. She is very wise, both emotionally and mentally, knowing how to teach others the values of patience and self-reflection in order to find peace and understanding within themselves.

History[]

Backstory[]

Nirmala was born in Grass Walls as a member of the Moshi Pride. As a cub, she become close friends with Ayo, a princess of the pride, and soon developed an affinity for healing others. When she reached adolescence, Nirmala traveled to the Tree of Life in order to be trained as a healer. Once there, Nirmala met and fell in love with Surak, a prince of the Tree of Life. She become close to Surak's brother, Jivin, and sister-in-law, Maya. Upon reaching adulthood, Surak and Nirmala married, and Nirmala gave birth to to a daughter named Aminia, followed shortly by a son named Danyal. Surak and Nirmala later witnessed the marriage of Jivin and Maya, and the birth of their niece, Rani, who was born shortly after Danyal. Shortly after Rani's birth, Dayaalu completed his journey in the Circle of Life, which prompted Janna to abdicate the throne, and pass it to Jivin and Maya, who became the new king and queen of the Tree of Life.  Later, Nirmala witnessed the birth of Baliyo and the agreement of a peace treaty between the Tree of Life and Leopon Plains, which was now ruled by Ajani and Ayo.
