Queen Nala, Or just Nala, is one of the characters of the upcoming fanfiction: Lion Guard Rewritten. Nala is the reigning Queen of the Pride Lands, Simba's mate, and mother of Kopa, Kiara, and Kion.

Biography[]

Prior to The Lion Guard Rewritten[]

Nala was born in the Pride Lands under the rule of King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi, to her mother, Sarafina, and her unnamed father. At some point in her life, she met Prince Simba, and became his best friend, not knowing that Simba's parents and hers betrothed them to each other to rule the Pride Lands. After the King's brother, Scar, betrayed and killed Mufasa, and exiled Simba, Scar confirmed their deaths, and took over as King, allowing the hyenas to invade the land. For years Simba and Nala didn't see each other. When she entered young adulthood her ill brother Mheetu was born, and his illness affected her so much that she left the Pride Lands to seek help and entered the jungle where she reunited with Simba, alive and well with Timon and Pumbaa. She convinced him to return home and defeat Scar, where she became his mate and therefore his Queen. They eventually had three cubs, Kopa, Kiara, and Kion.

Physical Appearance[]

Nala is a full-grown lioness with a dark tawny coat, pale tawny muzzle and underbelly, turquoise eyes, and a very dark pink nose. The tuft at the end of her tail is brown. She is built somewhat more narrowly than Simba and is slightly shorter. In addition, the area between her eye and her eyebrow is paler than this color rather than darker. Nala has slender dark brown eyebrows. Unlike Simba and both of her cubs, her toes do not have any marks of her second fur color. Her eyebrows are dark brown and thin.

Personality[]

Nala is assertive and determined, with a sense of responsibility. She is confident and always has faith in her loved ones, of whom she is very complimentary and encouraging. She never hesitates to offer her support, guidance, and affection when it is needed. To her, nothing is more important in her life than to keep her whole family happy and secure. Despite her usually gentle demeanor, she is brave, sharp and firm in the face of enemies. Although it is never her first choice to solve problems with violence, she will fight if she must. She is also calm and understanding and is a caring mother, who is always there if her children need her help or council.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Her relationship with her few live blood relatives is a good one, as for most of their lives they had faced many hardships together during Scar's region

Mother[]

Nala appears to have a close relationship with her mother, Sarafina. Even as an adult, Nala enjoyed her mother company and is often with her during hard times.

Father[]

Nala remembers almost nothing about her father as he was killed by Scar almost right after her birth, all she does is a blinding white smile and a fatherly voice murmuring " Nala... our always successful lucky gift... Our Nala, my Nala. "

Mheetu[]

Mheetu was born when Nala was very emotionally unstable, as she was separated from her long time crush and abused by Scars cronies much like everyone else in the Pridelands. When one of the elderly lionesses discovered that he was showing early signs of autism, the poor lioness was so crestfallen that when Scar proposed to her she had a very hysteric reaction; to which Scar reacted by maiming young Mheetu almost to the doors of death. Horrified from seeing her younger brother " killed " she runs away to seek help, in which she eventually succeeds. When she finds out he was not her brother but found abandoned near the outskirts of their territory.

Simba[]

She knew Simba as a cub and the two were friends when they were kids. When they reunited several years later she fell in love and fought with Simba against Scar. Nala loves her mate very dearly and has a great deal of faith in him both as a mate, king, and father. When Simba is feeling doubtful over anything, Nala is always there to give him her support. She is also the one who is able to convince Simba into doing things, such as the Christmas performance for Timon and Pumba.

Nala fears for her mate whenever he is in severe danger, such as the time when he fell into a sinkhole, and when he becomes ill, as she stays by his side until he is healed, showing her love and loyalty to her mate.

Kopa[]

Kiara[]

Nala and her daughter Kiara are shown to have a loving mother-daughter relationship, and Kiara enjoys learning about the importance of hunting and tracking from her. Nala always worries for her daughter whenever she's in danger and has faith in her knowing she can and will be a good future queen.

Kion[]

Nala appears to have a close mother-son relationship with her son Kion. Unlike Simba, she accepted that it was time for Kion to lead the Lion Guard, and showed immense pride in him when he defeated Janja and his clan and rescued Kiara. Kion cares about her deeply and becomes concerned about her whenever she's in danger. When Kion is blemished with the Mark of Evil, Nala is deeply concerned for her only son and is utterly horrified when Rafiki reveals that there is no cure for him in the Pride Lands. After Kion departs for the Tree of Life, Nala continues to miss him months later and is overjoyed when she not only sees him return but when he becomes King of the Tree of Life.

In-laws[]

Mufasa and Sarabi[]

Nala has a good relationship with Simba's parents. Mufasa saved her from the hyenas when she was a cub. Sarabi helped her and Simba fight in the battle against Scar after finding out that it was he that killed Mufasa.

Rani[]

Rani becomes Nala's daughter-in-law after Kopa becomes the king of the Tree of Life. Nala is shown to be supportive of her son's love for Rani and is delighted and proud when they are married.

Kovu[]

As Kovu is Kiara’s mate and her future King Consort, Nala is on especially good terms with him and has accepted him as a member of the royal family.

Alika[]

Alika becomes Nala's "daughter-in-law" after her's and Kion's marriage, she is on good terms with Nala who never knows of her role in Kion and Fuli's relationship.
