Mufasa to young Simba

Mufasa was a male lion and a former King of the Pride Lands. He was murdered by his younger brother, Scar. Mufasa was the mate of Sarabi and father of Simba. He has played a large role in Simba's life, and later in the life of his grandson, Kion.

Physical appearance[]

Mufasa was a large and powerfully built male lion. He had a full red mane that extended to the middle of his chest. His nose was brownish in color, and he had red eyes. His fur was a golden, while his chest, muzzle, stomach and paws were paler in color. He had broad shoulders, a muscular frame, and black eyebrows as well.

Personality[]

Mufasa was a respectable and responsible lion. He was a very wise king and father and influenced Simba greatly as a cub and adult. Although serious at times, he still knew how to have fun with his son. He was more tolerant of his enemies, but would not let a challenge or threat go unconfronted. He revered the Circle of Life and believed all animals were worthy of respect. Mufasa also had much wisdom on many situations, and was very brave when needed.

  • His name means "king" in Swahili, rather fittingly.
  • Sarabi still misses her mate and thinks of him often. The two had a loving relationship.
  • Mufasa gave his grandson Kion much advice during the latter's early years, from heaven.
    • Kion also highly resembles his grandfather.
  • He was good friends with Rafiki.
  • Mufasa also had a sister-in-law named Esther.
