Mohatu is the son of Yele and Aega, the mate of Asali, the brother of Tayo and Kusho, and the father of Ahadi, Mukasa and Aegano.
History[]
When Mohatu's mother Yele was born, the shaman Faraji told her parents King Tombo and his mate Queen Aamil that Yele would have three sons, one who would kill his uncles and his aunt. Tombo and Aamil had three sons, Tosin, Abebi and Tomori, and one other daughter besided Yele, Sanyu. Yele's siblings all agreed to kill Yele, but Tombo refused.
Abebi became the leader of the Lion Guard. His guard took Yele and put her in a secret cave, where no one could find her. She would be visited by her parents once a day, to be given food.
Yele grew up to be a restless cub.
Sanyu would grow up to become the founder of the Savannah, Tosin would become the founder of the Grasslands, Abebi would become the founder of the Shrublands and Tomari would become the founder of the River lands. King Tombo then had a question. Who would rule the Pridelands after his death?
Most of his subjects said that Yele could become the future ruler, and that one of Yele's nephews could become her heir. Yele's siblings agreed , but they plotted to kill Yele after Tombo and Aamil's death.
However, Yele had an affair with a rogue named Aega, and had three cubs, Mohatu , Kusho and Tayo. Yele made Aega the king, and Tayo the leader of the Lion Guard.
But Yele's siblings were furious. But as Tombo and Aamil were still alive, they couldn't do anything.
Soon Tombo died, and Yele and Aega became King and Queen of the Pridelands. But later Aamil died as well, and Yele's siblings killed Aega. Yele escaped the Pridelands with her children.
Sanyu, the Queen of the Savannah, had a mate named Kanye. Kanye and Sanyu soon became the King and Queen of the Savannah and the Pridelands. They had three cubs, Khari, the future king of the Savannah , Kofi, the future king of the Pridelands, and Kunto, the leader of the lion guard.
But Yele's siblings knew that Mohatu, Tayo and Kusho were still alive. They formed an army of African Wild dogs to go and hunt and kill Yele and her cubs.
Yele was soon killed. Her three cubs escaped, but they had a hard time surviving. They would have died, if it was not for a pack of Fennec Foxes, that raised the tree cubs.
Tayo would later decide to stay with the Fennec foxes and become the founder of the Desertlands. Kusho decided to convert a group of barbaric lions and formed the deadlands. Mohatu, would go to avenge his parents.
The battle was hard, but Mohatu won, killing his uncles and his aunt. He choose a lioness named Asali as his queen.
However, during the war, Kofi was the king of the Pridelands, and he took in a mate named Neema and was expecting two cubs. Mohatu decided that Kofi and Neema's cubs should be members of the next lion guard. Asali started expecting cubs long after Neema had her cubs.

Mohatu with his father
Kofi and Neema had two sons, Aoko and Chane, who would become members of Mukasa (Mohatu's second son, after Ahadi)'s lion guard. Mohatu had one last son named Aegano.
Aoko would grow up to become the mate of a lioness named Eli and the father of Uru. Uru would become Ahadi's mate.
Mohatu was also a very responsible king during a drought, and he also fought Choyo, a selfish lion who wanted to take over the Pridelands.
Mohatu also helped the Circle of life flourish. He became one of the best kings of the Pridelands, and was king for the longest time. He later died of old age, but he became the brightest star in the sky. He became so famous that most lions mistook Mohatu to be the First King of the Pridelands. Mohatu also became a very important king to the Tree of Life, as he helped them during a drought.
