Maumivu Thorn Patch is a grassy area filled with an abundance of dark brown thorns all over. The dry season reveals several large rocks also reside there.

Reth's Pride attacks Maumivu Thorn Patch, and Mhina and his siblings head over there to stop them. While Mhina, Kicheko, and Tatu confront the lions, Kopa rescues Pim's Group from the thorns. Suddenly, Kariuki permanently scars Mhina over his eye, and with their mission complete, Reth's Pride retreats. Kicheko and Tatu help Mhina stand upright, and Kopa says that he'll stay behind with the hyraxes. Mhina weakly thanks him as Kicheko and Tatu guide him to Flat Ridge Rock.
