The Mark of Evil is an ominous image that has appeared in fire and in paintings of the past.

Information[]

According to various cave paintings, the Mark of Evil is a symbol associated with evil lions of the past. Askari's Lion Guard stopped these lions, and detailed them with this mark.

History[]

Legends of the Lion Guard: Battle for the Pride Lands[]

Rafiki examines a marking in the earth, concluding that it belongs to Scar and indicating that the evil lion has returned. Troubled, Kion reports the discovery of the mark to his parents. Later, Simba explains to the delegations that Rafiki found a mark in the earth, and the Spirits of the Past have helped him decipher its meaning. Rafiki adds that the mark is the shape of a scarred eye, and it is a sign of terrible evil befalling the Pride Lands. Makini says that the mark resembles a painting her uncle showed her. Some time after, the various kingdoms inform their inhabitants of the mark's discovery, revealing that Scar has been brought back.

When Scar disappears in the fire at Pride Rock, he leaves behind a mark which Simba quickly wipes away. After Kariuki scars Mhina, he tries to trick him into believing he has the Mark of Evil, but Rafiki reassures him that the Mark is only given through a cobra bite, meaning he will not turn evil. Once Ushari scars Kion, Scar tells him that he has the Mark of Evil and urges him to accept his destiny. However, Kion refuses, and summons the Spirits of the Past to destroy him. Back at Pride Rock, Bunga comments that Scar said Kion had the Mark of Evil, but Fuli quiets him.

Legends of the Lion Guard: The Dark Prophecy[]

Kion confesses to Kiara that Scar told him he had the Mark of Evil, meaning that he would turn evil like he did, but she reassures him that won't happen. The next day, Scar appears in a vision to Kion, telling him that he has the Mark of Evil and needs to accept his destiny. However, Kion refuses, distorting the vision with his paw. During their day out at Icy River, Kion reveals to Mhina that he thought Scar and Ushari were trying to trick him into believing he was the next bearer of the Mark of Evil.

Bearers of the Mark of Evil[]

Trivia[]
