Makucha's Leap joins forces with Kiburi's Float to crash Kion and Nguruma's birthday celebration. At the celebration, the leap goes after Binga and Chausiku, but they are soon blown away by Kion's Roar of the Elders.
Makucha's Leap spies on the Lion Guard as they travel to the Tree of Life. After hearing of the rare animals living at the Tree, Makucha reveals to his leap that they're going to follow the Lion Guard, and they pledge their loyalty to him. Soon, they arrive at the waterfall, where they meet Ora's Bank and Reth's Pride. Intrigued, Makucha offers an alliance between the two groups and his leap, and Ora accepts while Reth refuses. Later, Makucha's Leap and Ora's Bank arrive at the Mountain Pass. Out of nowhere, a binturong named Mama Binturong arrives, remarking that they are too flawed in their attacks. She effectively takes over as the leader of everyone around her. Soon, Mama Binturong decides to launch the first attack, introducing her porcupine enforcer Smun to the army. After his arrival, they head through the Mountain Pass, traveling to Winter Woods and attacking Cek's Flock. Ullu warns the Lion Guard and Night Pride of the predators, and they rush to Winter Woods, fending them off and forcing Mama Binturong to call a retreat.
Some time thereafter, the army bickers over what to attack next, and fed up, Mama Binturong silences them. She declares that they'll be getting revenge against Bunga next, making a few members skeptical of her planning, but once she mentions that they can also obtain rare animals, Makucha agrees to go through with the plan. While he and his leap go after elephants and golden wolves in Bamboo Woods, Ora and his bank target the Amur leopards in Winter Woods. Ullu and Cara report the attacks to the Lion Guard and Night Pride, who are quick to rush to both places. Makucha's Leap is quick to knock out their enemies, giving them the advantage, and shortly after, Makucha captures Bunga. This allows Mama Binturong to restrain him with Smun's Prickle; however, Bunga defies the odds and reveals that he isn't restrained, spraying the army with his stink and driving them away. Later, Mama rallies her army in the Mountain Pass and launches their biggest attack on the Tree of Life. Inside the Tree, Orji informs Janna about what he knows regarding Makucha and his leap. During the final battle, Makucha's Leap chases Astuto's Leash among other animals, but Kion soon defeats them with his mastered Roar of the Elders, sending them and the other predators far away with a tornado.

It is unknown what happened to Makucha's Leap following the events of The Dark Prophecy. However, they will not be returning as antagonists in the series.
