Makini is the Royal Mjuzi to the Tree of Life. She is the daughter of Fikiri and Kitendo, the twin sister of Nefu, and the former apprentice to her granduncle Rafiki.

Makini has gray fur with a paler underbelly, darker arms and legs, a peach-colored muzzle, hands, and feet, and a brown mane. Her eyes are aqua green.
