Prince Kiongozi was a male African lion who resided at the Pridelands. He was the leader of his Lion Guard since before King Mufasa's reign. He was the son of King Mohatu and Queen Chiku, the younger brother of King Ahadi, the older brother of Masego and Eshe, the mate of Avania and the father of Mbiyu and Nyota. After his death by injuries from battle in his old age, Prince Askari II (who later became Scar) became the new leader of the Lion Guard, with Kiongozi's two sons as part of his Lion Guard. Kion (Simba and Nala's son) was named after him.

Description[]

Kiongozi had golden orange fur, a brown mane and tail tuft and a lighter underbelly, muzzle and paws. He has a stocky build, in which his nephew, Mufasa inherited. His ears are hidden behind his large brown mane. His nose is very large and is brown. His eyes are brown.

Personality[]

Kiongozi was a brave and fearless hero. He had to fight his evil uncle, Choyo, and his army who tried to take over the Pridelands. But he did it with honor and with no fear. He even banished Choyo from the pridelands. He is celebrated by all the Pride as "the hero" and there are paintings of him and his guard on the paintings of Rafiki's cave.

However, he does have one major downside. He may be fearless when fighting, but he fears the future of his sons and his Lion Guard replacement (after he dies.) He refused to step down from his position in his old age, due to heavy worries about his replacement and he was only replaced after he completed the circle of life.

Watching down from the Great Kingdom of the Past, his worst fears came true when nephew, Scar betrayed his guard by roaring (which killed them!) He is deeply disappointed in his replacement (who now lost his position, of the Leader of the Lion Guard) when he and Shenzi's Clan took over the Pridelands and caused the Great Lions of the Past to betray them!
