History[]

Backstory[]

Kicheko was born in Leopon Plains as the youngest son of Ajani and Ayo, and the younger brother of Mhina and Tatu. He and his siblings would later gain an adoptive brother named Kopa. As a descendant of Pwani and Ilanga, Kicheko was chosen to become the next ruler of Grass Walls, the homeland of his mother and aunt, as the monarchy of Grass Walls is based upon male-preference primogeniture. When Kicheko became an adolescent, he began to learn about the customs and traditions of both Grass Walls and Leopon Plains, in order to provide support to his older brother, and be a good ruler of Grass Walls. When Ajani agreed upon a peace treaty with the king and queen of the Tree of Life, Kicheko became close friends with Baliyo, the prince of the Tree of Life.

He goes second in every event for the team. In the stone throw, he scores three points, allowing his team to tie with the Pride Lands team for second place. He and Bunga are then awarded with a star fruit by Vitani. In the stick toss, Kicheko scores five points, allowing his team to win second place. In the wrestling competition, he faces Zuri and wins. He later sleeps in the Lair.

When Mzazi and Hewa arrive, Mhina and Kicheko walk up to their paternal great-grandparents and greet them. After the arrival of Pwani and Ilanga, the brothers approach them, nuzzling their maternal grandparents affectionately. Simba, softening as Ilanga presses her muzzle against Kicheko's cheek, notes that they must be proud the latter is their heir, and she responds that she and Pwani are proud of all their grandchildren. Legends of the Lion Guard: Battle for the Pride Lands[]

Kicheko is now a teenager. He spends time with his family outside the Tumaini Pride Den, asking Mhina about what Kion thinks regarding a potential battle with the Outlanders. When Ajani reveals that they are going to the Pride Lands, Tatu asks if she and her siblings can go too, which her father agrees to. They are escorted to Pride Rock, and join the Lion Guard and Anga on a patrol. After driving away Janja's Clan, they return to Pride Rock, and Ajani begins to lead the Tumaini Pride back in the direction of Leopon Plains. While on the way to pick up the delegations, Fuli asks Kion who will be on the patrol, and he thinks that Mhina, his siblings, Rani, and Baliyo will join. After returning the parties to Pride Rock, Mhina says that his siblings want to join the patrol, and Kion states that they'll patrol Urembo Meadows. As they discuss the Outlander attacks, Ono reports that Kuuma and Mahuluti are being attacked by Kiburi's Float at Lake Shangaza, and the patrol rushes there. Kion orders everyone but himself and Mhina to fight the crocodiles. Once they are roared off, the entire patrol, sans Kion and Mhina, head in the direction of Pride Rock. Later, Mhina asks his siblings to lead training sessions in Leopon Plains, which they quickly do.

When Scar commences his war on the Pride Lands, Kicheko is one of the many animals gathered at the base of Pride Rock. After Zazu reports to Simba that the Lion Guard is struggling to fight the Outlanders, Simba assigns Kicheko, Tatu, and Kopa to help Kion and Mhina at Kilio Valley. Upon arriving, they find Kion and Mhina having a personal moment, and Kicheko points out that they're standing in the middle of a fire. Awkardly, Kion steps away from Mhina, and Kicheko asks what he wants them to do. He then orders him and Kopa to make fire breaks while Tatu distracts the vultures. Some time afterward, Kicheko, his siblings, Kion, and Ono fight Reirei's Pack at Chakula Plains, and he, Tatu, and Kopa face off with Bila, Chaka, and Checka. Suddenly, Ono reports that Kion's family is overwhelmed by Kucha's Clan at Pride Rock, and everyone rushes over, joined by the rest of the Guard and Azaad. They charge into battle, and Kicheko, along with the rest of his siblings, pull hyenas off of Simba. Kucha and her clan eventually retreat, and Kicheko watches as Scar appears through a fire, addressing the crowd gathered before him.

Minutes later, Kicheko is still left in shock. Suddenly, Ono reports two different attacks, the first being Reth's Pride attacking Maumivu Thorn Patch, and the second being Mzingo's Committee attacking Acacia Grove while it is also on fire. Mhina offers for him and his siblings to fight Reth's Pride, and despite Kion's reservations, he allows them to. They bound off, quickly arriving at Maumivu Thorn Patch, and Kicheko asks what they're waiting for. The leopons join the fight, and Kicheko sends Ekene crashing into an acacia tree. Without warning, Kariuki scars Mhina over his eye, and Kicheko and Tatu drag Slash and Kariuki away from Mhina. Kicheko snaps at them to retreat, and with their mission done, Reth's Pride retreats. Tatu examines her brother's shoulder, believing it is infected and telling him that he must see a Mjuzi. She and Kicheko balance Mhina, who leans heavily against his sister, and they head to Flat Ridge Rock. When they arrive, Tatu calls to Rafiki, and they settle alongside Mhina, with Kicheko asking Rafiki if he can treat Mhina.

Rani then arrives with a scarred foreleg, and Tatu asks about who attacked her. She describes a dark orange lion with a scar over his eye, and Tatu realizes that it is Ubaya, who must have come to fight with Scar's forces. Kicheko adds that Ubaya is very evil, as he tried to take over Leopon Plains during the reign of Arjana. Later, Kicheko and his family head into the Lair of the Lion Guard to see Mhina, and Ajani explains that his siblings told him what happened. Simba then leads them out so Kion and Mhina have alone time.

Legends of the Lion Guard: The Dark Prophecy[]

Outside the Tumaini Pride Den, Kicheko comments that Kion and Mhina's relationship has grown from a single crush to full-blown romance. After Amali delivers the morning report, Kopa asks Ajani if he'd like to play Baobab Ball with him and Kicheko, which he agrees to warmly, inviting Tatu and Jiwe to come along with them as well. He then leads them to an acacia tree. Later, Mhina admits to Kion that he misses his family. When Mhina speaks to Lenga, he states that he knows his parents and siblings would accept his relationship with Kion. During his confrontation with Mhina, Ubaya promises to kill his family members, including his siblings.
