Jivin is a male lion. He is the son of Dayaalu and Janna, the brother of Surak, the mate of Maya, the father of Rani and Baliyo, the leader of the Night Pride, and the king of the Tree of Life.

He is a supporting character in Legends of the Lion Guard.

Appearance 

Jivin's pelt is brown, while his muzzle and underbelly are paler in color. His mane is brown, and his eyes are blue. Additionally, as a member of the Night Pride, he has a lion's head marking on his right shoulder. As the king of the Tree of Life, he sports a ceremonial painted blue stripe on his forehead.

Personality

Jivin is shown very open-minded and traditional. He is a loving father, and strives to provide a good example for his children. As a king and leader, Jivin is instructive and wise, borne down by years of experience and instruction.

History

Backstory

Jivin was born into the royal family of the Tree of Life, as the eldest son of Janna and Dayaalu, and the older brother of Surak. During Jivin's cubhood, he became known for his responsible and dutiful nature, and respect for all that followed the Circle of Life. Soon, a betrothal was arranged between Jivin, and Maya, a member of the Mwanga Pride. Once Jivin and Maya reached adulthood, they married, and Maya soon gave birth to their firstborn cub, a daughter named Rani. Shortly after Rani's birth, Dayaalu completed his journey in the Circle of Life, which prompted Janna to abdicate the throne, and pass it to Jivin and Maya, who became the new king and queen of the Tree of Life. Soon, Jivin and Maya welcomed a second cub, named Baliyo, and a peace treaty was agreed upon between Leopon Plains, and the Tree of Life. When Rani reached adolescence, Jivin and Maya began to prepare her for her future role as queen, and taught her about the customs and traditions of the Tree of Life, and the different lifestyles of each inhabitant.
