Eusi is a female bat hawk that lives in the Towe Gorge.
Appearance[]
True to her name, Eusi has long, glossy ebony-colored feathers, without a trace of white present on them. A bat hawk of great size, Eusi has large, muscular wings, long silver legs, and powerful talons of the same hue that end in glossy black claws. Her beak is short and slender, cruelly hooked at the tip. She has clear yellow eyes, bright and piercing. A single long feather on the back of her head curls very slightly upward.
Personality[]
Eusi is often viewed as crass due to her blunt insensitivity and harsh judgements. She cares only for her mate and for herself, and has no respect for Maisha Urari. She is strict and stubborn, but she can be reasoned with by Domo, her beloved mate. She is quite stuck-up and considers her species to be the most important animal in the Drylands.
History[]
Early Life[]
Eusi hatched away from the Drylands, the only egg in her clutch. Her parents did not care much for their hatchlings, and ordered Eusi to leave as soon as she matured. Eusi complied, and flew until she reached the Drylands. She rested atop the Poromoko Cliffs, catching a nightjar to eat. It was then she spotted another bat hawk, a male, hunting bats in the distance. She did not see him again until several days had passed. She was hunting at dusk when she almost collided with him. They exchanged polite greetings and parted ways.
They encountered each other four more times over the next two weeks, and by the third week Eusi had begun to fall in love with his kindness, courtesy, and skill. They soon became mates, and Eusi found them a home at the Towe Gorge.
