The Story of Two Lion Guards is the second episode in Defending the Pride Lands.
Synopsis[]
Kion's Lion Guard and Vitani's Lion Guard agree to work together in protecting the Pride Lands.
Transcript[]
"Today is the day,” Kion said. "We start our duties as Lion Guard, again."
Before the Guard could enter the lair, Vitani’s Guard exited.
"Vitani?"
"Kion. You know we’ve taken over your job, right?"
"Yeah, I know."
"So, we’re the Lion Guard."
"But we are too," Ono said.
"That’s right! Make way for the real Lion Guard!" Bunga said.
"Maybe our Guards could work together. In defending the Pride Lands," Kion suggested.
"Hmm. Imara, Kasi, Tazama, Shabaha? What do you think of that?"
"I like that idea," Tazama said.
"But we’re the real Guard!" Shabaha said.
"In fairness…Kion does have the roar, and we have the Mark," Fuli said.
"True. Okay. I’ll do it," Shabaha decided.
"Well, it would help the Pride Lands…" Imara began.
"And it would help if we need to split up," Kasi added.
"I guess it’s a yes."
"Poa!" Beshte said.
"Great! But...I do need to talk to someone, first," Kion said.
Kion finds somewhere alone to talk to Mufasa.
"Grandfather Mufasa?" Kion asked.
"Yes, Kion. I’m here."
"Today, Vitani and her Lion Guard told us they were the real Lion Guard. Could they be right?"
"When the time comes, your Guard will have to make way for them."
"We agreed to work together, already. Is that the wrong choice?"
"You need to see for yourself. I cannot decide that."
"What if it's wrong?"
"Then you need to make it right. I know you can do it."
"Okay. Thank you, grandfather."
Kion finds the Guard in the lair.
"Who’d you talk to?" Bunga asked.
"I’d rather not say, but they helped me realize that our Guards were meant to work together," Kion said.
"That’s good. There was something I needed to say, anyways," Vitani said.
"What is it?" Anga asked.
"Ono told me how you said ‘Vitani is fiercer than me, for sure.'"
"I did," Ono said.
"I remember that. Kion admitted you were fiercer."
"You know...anyone willing to admit that someone is fiercer than them deserves to keep their mark," Vitani said.
"Thank you, Vitani," Kion answered.
"Of course. I look forward to working together, Kion."
"I do, too. Hopefully we can keep the Pride Lands safer this way."
"Great! The powers of...one...two...uh...eleven can keep away all dangers!" Bunga said.
"I don't like this, but for the Pride Lands!" Imara said.
"That's the spirit," Beshte said.
"Shall we begin?" Ono asked.
"Yeah! Come on!" Bunga said.
The Guard began their first patrol combined.
