Chekundu Cliffs is an area surrounded by flat, sloping rock cliffs. The ground below is grassy with few acacia trees and mud pits.

The Lion Guard, Mhina, Anga, and Jasiri patrol Chekundu Cliffs, but have to stop to rescue Timon and Pumbaa at Lake Matope. They soon return and complete the patrol at Chekundu Cliffs. Later, the Lion Guard patrols Chekundu Cliffs again, and they soon head off to rescue Binga at Big Ravine. When Scar commences his attack on the Pride Lands, he orders every hyena clan to conquer Chekundu Cliffs. Kion finds out about the war from Zazu, and he sends Bunga, Ono, and Anga to Chekundu Cliffs, but it becomes clear Scar's forces outnumber them there. Simba orders Mshale and his Lion Guard to help them, and they head to Chekundu Cliffs, joining the battle.
