The relationships of Bunga.
Family[]
Timon and Pumbaa[]
Timon is one of Bunga's adoptive uncles and is very close to him. Originally, he wasn't that fond of raising Bunga, then an infant, despite Pumbaa's objections, and Timon cited the trials and tribulations of raising Simba as to why he didn't want to raise another young animal. However, Bunga would charm Timon by finding him and Pumbaa Utamu grubs, and with his heart warmed, Timon agreed to raise him as a nephew. Bunga, in turn, shows regular concern for Timon and Pumbaa, but also follows their Hakuna Matata philosophy, gaining his excessive exuberance from his uncles.

Max[]
Bunga is shown to have a close relationship with his adoptive great-uncle.

Mhina[]
Bunga and Mhina are shown to have a close friendship. Despite Bunga's tendency to be overenthusiastic, and often intrude on moments between Kion and Mhina, Mhina values Bunga's friendship, and is impressed by his bravery and tenaciousness. Bunga has implied himself to be a fan of Kion and Mhina's romance, as he once insisted that they should "come out of the cave," a metaphor to them coming out as queer.
Fuli[]
Bunga and Fuli have a good friendship, though at times Fuli continuously becomes exasperated by Bunga's overenthusiastic nature and frustrated by his interruptions during moments, whether in serious situations or when Kion is having a moment with Mhina. However, she does value his friendship and considers him to be the bravest animal in the Serengeti. Bunga is close with her, sometimes understanding how much his actions can annoy her, and he always listens to her advice when she gives it.

However, her blind rage has often led to Bunga being easily able to defeat and mock her, much to her ire.
