Atiena is a female leopon. She is the daughter of Arjana, the mother of Ajani and Patch, and a former queen of Leopon Plains. She is also a member of the Tumaini Pride.
She is a supporting character in Legends of the Lion Guard.
Appearance[]
Atiena's pelt is tan, while her muzzle, paws, and underbelly are paler in color. Her eyes are blue. As a former queen of Leopon Plains, she sports a ceremonial painted blue stripe on her forehead.
Personality[]
Atiena is very serene and pleasant, appearing wise beyond her years. She is a wise ruler who cares for her family and subjects, and in return, is loved by them. She is not one to judge simply by appearance or species, and is very accepting. She is also very kind and gentle.
History[]
Backstory[]
Atiena was born in Leopon Plains as the daughter of Arjana. As a cub, she formed a close attachment to her aunt, Sapphire, and soon learned about her role as a future queen of Leopon Plains. Soon after her birth, her mother took her place as queen, and Atiena continued her training.
When she was a teenager, a bethrothal between her and prince Ubaya of the Mwanga Pride was arranged. One day, Arjana was informed of a plot by Ubaya to overthrow the kingdom, and Atiena was devastated to hear the news. Despite Ubaya getting wind of his exposure, he was too late to stop the whole pride from being told of his treachery. When he returned to the Tumaini Pride, he was banished, and he and Atiena never married. However, Atiena found out that she was carrying his cubs, and soon gave birth to Ajani and Patch. Despite the fact that their father was banished from the kingdom, Atiena worked hard to raise them right.
A while after her sons were born, Arjana died of sickness, and Atiena took the throne. She began to train Ajani for his role as king while also giving equal attention to Patch. Soon, a bethrothal was arranged for Ajani and princess Ayo from Grass Walls, and when the time was right, Atiena stepped down as queen, and Ayo succeeded her. Atiena watched the birth of her grandchildren: Mhina, Tatu, Kicheko, Afua, Maua, and Subira, and loves telling them stories of her time as queen.

A Celebration in the Pride Lands[]
While at the watering hole, Ono sees Mhina's family and flies off to inform the Royal Family. The Tumaini Pride is brought to Pride Rock, and the Lion Guard is assigned to keep the cubs busy. Atiena is taken inside the den, and watches as Simba and Ajani talk about the treaty. Later, she attends the Kupatana celebration, and follows the Tumaini Pride home the next day.

Legends of the Lion Guard: Battle for the Pride Lands[]
Atiena, as part of the Leopon Plains delegation, arrives in the Pride Lands in order to hear urgent news from Simba, who wishes to have them escorted to Pride Rock. Kion and the Lion Guard take them to Pride Rock, and Simba leads then inside the den to discuss. Unbeknownst to them, Shupavu and Njano have reported their presence to Scar, who deems the news interesting. After Simba confesses that Scar has returned, the delegations are shocked and share glances with one another. When Scar commences his war on the Pride Lands, Atiena is one of the many animals gathered at the base of Pride Rock. She wraps her tail around Subira, saying that she and her siblings will have lots of fun with her, and Afua asks if she'll tell them a story. Atiena happily agrees to, and leads him, Subira, and Maua inside Regandi and Merah's Cave. At Flat Ridge Rock, Kicheko mentions that Ubaya tried to take over Leopon Plains before Atiena became queen.
Legends of the Lion Guard: The Dark Prophecy[]
Atiena comments that Kion and Mhina's relationship has grown since their cubhood. Later, in his confrontation with Mhina, Ubaya snaps that he would have killed Atiena to save himself, declaring that meeting her was a mistake - she's complacent. He then vows to kill Mhina and his whole family, including Atiena.
