An Enemy In Trouble is the ninth episode of Legends of the Lion Guard: Protectors of the Pride Lands.
Synopsis[]
Goigoi pleads with the Lion Guard to help him when his mate, Reirei, is stuck in a strong current.
Transcript[]
It was a peaceful morning in the Pride Lands. The Lion Guard was on Pride Rock.
"Shouldn't you guys be on patrol?" Kiara asked.
"Yes. We're waiting for Ono," Kion said. "To find an emergency."
"It's not often that you're relaxed," Kovu said.
"Usually you're off saving some animal in need," Nguruma added.
"True," Fuli said.
Elsewhere, Reirei, Mbweha, and Goigoi were hunting.
"What is wrong with this place? There's almost nothing to eat!" Reirei scoffed.
"Well, there's zebras over there!" Goigoi said.
"We'd have to cross this river," Mbweha replied. "There's a log."
"I'll go first," Reirei said. "And not because I'm making sure it's safe," she added under her breath.
"I'm not so sure about this, Reirei," Mbweha said.
"I'll be fine!" Reirei said.
However, the log snapped, and Reirei fell in. She grabbed onto one half of the log.
"Are you sure you're fine?" Mbweha asked.
"Yes!" Reirei snapped. "You two get me out of here, though!"
"Now what are we supposed to do?" Goigoi demanded.
"We get help," Mbweha said.
Back at Pride Rock, Ono had arrived.
"Great, you're here! Let's go," Kion said.
The Lion Guard left, saying a quick goodbye.
"Hi, Lion Guard!" Makini called.
"Makini? Aren't you helping Rafiki?" Beshte asked.
"I am! Well, he's back there! We're collecting herbs." Makini said.
"Poa!" Beshte said.
"It's really fun. But I've been trying to find this certain plant. It's really hard to find. I wonder if I'll be able to." Makini saif.
"Shwari," Rafiki said, coming up to them. "You will find it once you look harder. Look harder over there."
"Got it, Uncle Rafiki. Bye, Lion Guard!" Makini said.
"Bye, Makini!" Beshte said.
The Guard turned around to find Goigoi and Mbweha coming up to them.
"What are you doing here?" Kion demanded.
"Get out of the Pride Lands!" Bunga said.
"You gotta help us!" Goigoi said.
"Help you? With what?" Fuli asked.
"Reirei is floating away!" Mbweha replied.
"Floating away?" Ono repeated.
"On a log...at Urembo River. We don't know who else to ask," she explained.
"I don't know...you guys aren't the nicest of animals," Bunga said.
"Bunga. The Lion Guard is supposed to help anyone," Kion began.
"I know, I know. It's just...alright, we'll help you." Bunga said.
"She's really far away!" Goigoi said.
"Ono? Can you find her?" Kion asked.
Ono flew up and looked around. "Hapana! I see her. She's safe, but moving fast!"
"Then we have to move quickly! Till the Pride Lands end?"
"Lion Guard defend!" The Guard chanted.
"I guess we'll just...tag along!" Goigoi said.
They followed Ono's lead to Urembo River.
"When I said get me out of here, I didn't mean get our-" Reirei said.
"Do you want our help or not?" Fuli asked
"Oh fine. But just this once!" Reirei said.
"We're approaching Big Springs," Ono called.
"Well that's fantastic! I suppose I'm supposed to sit back and let you do everything?" Reirei said.
"Beshte, can you get her out?" Kion asked. "Only you can handle the current."
"I can try. Twende kiboko!" Beshte said, jumping into the water.
"Ono? Who's at Big Springs?" Fuli asked.
"I don't think anyone is," Ono said.
"No one at Big Springs? Did the fish scare them off?" Bunga asked.
"Hapana! It wasn't the fish, it was Riptail!" Ono said.
"Oh. Maybe he scared the fish away!" Bunga offered.
"It looks like it. And I don't think he'd be happy to see us here." Beshte came out with Reirei.
"We're too close to Big Springs for comfort," Fuli said. Riptail should-"
"Indeed you are too close for comfort! I suggest you leave now," Riptail said.
"Let everyone back into Big Springs," Bunga said.
"Why? There's enough water everywhere else. I should be able to have Big Springs." Riptail said.
"That's not right. It's against the Circle of Life!" Kion said.
"Fine by me." Riptail said.
"It's not fine by me," Kion said. "So let everyone in. Last warning."
"I'm not afraid of you, cub!" Riptail said. He lunged at Kion, but Kion jumped backwards.
"His name is Kion!" Bunga said, clearly ready to attack.
"Bunga. We don't want to make this violent," Ono said.
"Ono is right," Kion said.
Riptail swung his tail towards Kion, but Kion jumped again.
"So you can move and think quickly, lion called Kion. You make a worthy opponent! It's almost a pity we're enemies!" Riptail said.
"Don't make me use the Roar," Kion said.
"I'm supposed to see that as a threat?" Riptail laughed.
Kion roared and sent him flying backwards. "Yes," he said.
Reirei looked unhappy. "What's wrong?" Fuli asked.
"Aren't you glad you're safe and you can go home?" Beshte added.
"Oh I am. It's them who I'm angry at." She turned to Goigoi and Mbweha.
"Why are you mad at us?" Goigoi asked.
"We got you out," Mbweha added.
"You didn't! The Lion Guard did! And they're our enemies!" Reirei sighed.
"But you ain't stuck anymore, so it's okay!" Goigoi said.
Reirei just sighed and shook her head.
"Let's go home," she said.
As they passed the volcano, Reirei said, "Don't ever ask them for help again!"
"Who else would save us?" Mbweha asked.
"A lot of animals," Reirei answered.
"Alright, alright," Goigoi said.
