A few days later, King Ajani met Ayo, a light brown leopon of royal blood. Ajani was very nice and affectionate towards her, which made their relationship become stronger and loving. Later, Ajani tells Mhina that he and Ayo will be coming to the Pride Lands so they can speak with the Royal Family on the Outlander attacks, allowing his siblings, Sapphire, Amali, and Anika to come along as well. They are greeted at the Lake Matope border by the Lion Guard and Anga, and Ajani explains to Kion that they need to speak to his parents. At Pride Rock, Simba says that Ajani has come to speak about the Outlander attacks, to which he responds that he and Ayo have learned of these battles from Mhina. He agrees that Mhina and his siblings can patrol with the Guard, leaving them to do so and heading inside the den. Ajani promises the help of the Tumaini Pride, not wanting them to face a battle alone. Simba thanks him, mentioning how complete Kion feels around his son; Ajani replies that he feels the same and is glad Mhina is of use to the Guard. Ayo adds that they believe Mhina will be a great ruler, and they hope he finds someone he loves that will rule alongside him. Once the discussions are finished, Ajani says that it is time to head back to Leopon Plains, and leads the Tumaini Pride into the Pride Lands.
Later, Ajani is part of the Leopon Plains delegation that arrives in the Pride Lands to speak with Simba. He assigns the Lion Guard to fetch them, and they bring the delegations to Pride Rock. There, Simba suggests talking inside the den, and Ajani agrees. After heading inside, Ajani asks what this is about, as Zazu's message was very cryptic. He explains the mark in the earth and Kion finding a fiery lion's head, but Ajani says that he hasn't given enough context, inquiring what great change is upon them. Simba finally reveals that Scar has returned, shocking the delegations, but Ajani promises that the Pride Lands will not be alone, and they'll stop this evil united as one. Meanwhile, after defeating Kiburi's Float, Mhina tells Mahuluti to inform his father of where he is. Some time after, Ajani has gathered a crowd of animals in Msafiri Forest, and he announces that there is news that must be shared. Exchanging a glance with Mhina, Ajani reveals that Scar has been revived, intending to destroy the Circle of Life, and every kingdom will prepare for battle in order to defeat Scar. Shortly afterward, while patrolling with the Guard, Mhina says that Ajani has a delegation ready to come to the Pride Lands once the battle begins.
