Ahadi is a male lion, the son of two unknown parents, and a previous king of the Pridelands. He is the mate of Uru, the father of Taka and Mufasa, and the son-in-law of Mohatu and Akili. His original pride was an Outlands-dwelling pride that he had left, named the Janga pride.

After assuming the throne, Ahadi lived a peaceful life and eventually passed from an unknown disease. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Mufasa.

Appearance[]

Ahadi is a golden-furred lion, larger than his sons and Uru, but smaller than Mohatu. His fur is around the color of Mufasa's, but a bit yellower. His eyes are a frightening, bright green, like Taka. Another trait he shares with his son is his mane. It is large and bushy, a trait that his his great-grandson Kopa has, with a jet-black color. He has a black outlander nose, and a build like that of the outlanders. Due to his time in the Pridelands, he is stronger and better-fed. He has various scars from battles with opposing lions and hyenas.

Personality[]

Ahadi is known to be a very aggressive and stubborn lion to those he doesn't know. To his loved ones and friends, he is a kind lion with a decent heart, but those he doesn't care for are often taken aback by his nature. He gets angry easily, but those he loves can calm him down, like Uru. Once you get to know him, he's a lovable goof with a nice sense of humor. Ahadi is known to be a good ruler, knowing the difference between his wants and the kingdom's needs. He tends to favor his older son, Mufasa, for having a calmer nature, than Taka, but he still loves the twins. He tends to go with his heart, rather than his head, leading to a few bad decisions.

Detailed History[]

Ahadi was born in the Outlands pride of the name The Janga Pride. There, he was raised by the entire pride, along with a few other cubs. Life wasn't the best, but they got by. Eventually, as tradition says, all males must leave the pride to preserve food for the next generation. Ahadi was told stories of the lands miles away from his home. Green and full of life. He heard stories of a great king who ruled with his brother and mate. The other males he had left with joined him in a small, travelling group that would split as one found a pride. This included Mzingo and Furaha, two males who had been close to Ahadi during his time in the Janga Pride.

The trio of males picked up a few others who left a little while after. There were many makeshift prides in the dry, grim desert lands. There were tales of an upcoming river that was impossible to cross. It was called the Great Divide. A storm was brewing as they came upon the river, striking a tree and creating a log bridge between the lands. Ahadi, Mzingo, and Furaha crossed cautiously, and ended up in the Pridelands. They hunted and rested in a grove, eventually being found by a hunting party consisting of Uru, Safi, and Jua. The lionesses were wary at first, but upon hearing of their travels, allowed them to come with them.

Upon reaching Pride Rock, home of the Asili Pride, Ahadi greeted the king, Mohatu. Mohatu and his mate, Akili decided to converse with their fellow lions.

Years passed, and Ahadi grew closer to the lioness who brought him to the pride, Uru. Mohatu was growing in age, and a new King would be needed to continue the line. With the blessing of her father, Uru and Ahadi married. Mohatu passed another year later, and the two took the throne.

Ahadi and Uru decided to have their heir, and Uru became pregnant with a cub. Taking tips from his former Pridemates, Furaha and Mzazi, who had had cubs of their own, Ahadi tried to do everything for his mate.

During a scouting mission that Ahadi had led, a young cub was found on the outskirts of the pride territory. Her name was Zira, and she said her father had left her there. Taking pity on the poor thing, Ahadi took the cub back and placed her under the care of the lionesses. A week later, Uru gave birth to twin cubs. Ahadi named the eldest, Mufasa, while Uru named the youngest, Taka. Uru called upon one of her father's friends, Kutata, a mandrill who had presented the previous princes and princesses. Kutaka held up the two cubs, presenting them to the kingdom and great kings.

The cubs grew, and when they reached two years of age, Ahadi told Mufasa that he would be the future king and announced that he was betrothed to Mzazi and Jua's daughter, Sarabi. Ahadi did not know of, or care of the affect on his other son, Taka. Ahadi dedicated most of his time to Mufasa, despite Uru's concerns. Taka was ultimately ignored by his father, causing him to become bitter, thinking that nobody truly cared for him.

After many pleas, Ahadi finally accepted Taka as the leader of a hunting party along with Sarafina, Zira, and a few other lionesses, including his mate, Uru. When the party came back, they were in a panic. Uru had been severely injured by a rogue nearby, due to Taka insisting they hunted where the zebra herd was mainly situated. Ahadi took this as a purposeful attempt of murder, rather than an accidental ambush, and attacked his son in fury. Taka was branded with a scar that blinded him permanently, despite Kutaka and his apprentice, Rafiki's efforts to heal. Ahadi was sent into a depression and rage at the attack. Any attempts to calm his temper by Mufasa or Kutaka, even Furaha or Mzazi would fail.

Uru survived, but not without a permanent limp. She finally calmed him down, and upon hearing about Taka's scar, confronted him. He said it was a foolish decision done in his rage, and Uru forgave him. Even if Taka didn't, she would always forgive him.

After this incident, Sarabi and Mufasa decided to tie the knot and get married to ease the tension. The entire kingdom was there, and celebrated the marriage of the two lions. Ahadi was getting up in years, along with Uru, so they were happy that the two were coming together. Ahadi and Uru asked their other son, Taka, if he was going to marry Sarafina or Zira, as they knew he was previously interested in them, but he refused to say anything. Ahadi decided that Taka would eventually find someone who could curb his temper, similar to Uru and him.

A few years later, Ahadi passed. Uru stepped down and allowed Mufasa and Sarabi to ascend to the throne.

Ahadi would go on to watch over and guide Mufasa, as a great king, alongside Uru when she joined them.
